    https://www.axios.com/coronavirus-p...age-e092414b-b1ca-40ad-9293-eeb322b2fb3e.html

Independents almost percisely match Democrats on this survey with only 35% believing that the news reports are generally exaggerated.

This disparity is the direct result of the Republican's leader using words like "hoax," inappropriately comparing COVID-19 to the flu, and repeatedly contradicting health experts over the last two weeks.

One silver lining from this survey is that 77% of both Democrats and Republicans agree that a federally mandated two week self-quarantine for anyone exposed to COVID-19 would not be threatening to their personal rights and freedom.

It is your civic duty to prepare for this virus. Do so by researching the virus, incorporating better health practices into your daily life, and ensuring that you and your family could self-isolate for 2-3 weeks without relying upon grocery stores, pharmacies, or deliveries.

That is an interesting point. Of course, anyone who self quarantines voluntarily has not had any rights infringed. Their choice. However, what does the Constitution say about anything like that which is imposed, and ignored?

I've argued for a couple of weeks that trumpers are more likely to get covid 19 than liberals. If they don't take it seriously then they won't take basic precautions. And because many trumpers are older people, they are also the most likely to have serious health issues related to the virus.

Sure enough, it took two weeks before we saw a bunch of Republicans in quarantine. Too damn funny! And trump has already had indirect exposure because of it.

The worst thing is the administration is holding back the medical professionals and stopped the federal data flow of case reporting. This health issue is being handled as if it was a political issue.

As I suspected Trump doesn’t possess the ability to handle this challenge and unfortunately neither does the Republican Party. They’re going to screw up the economic response. Their minds are stuck in a tiny little box.

He didn't call the virus a hoax, he called your party's politicized response a hoax. Part of a pattern.

What if the threat really is exaggerated?

    Good advice.

It’s not our fault he keeps lying about it, should we just stop noticing? Didn’t he say it was 15 and about to be zero? Now it’s over 1000!

And you think 1000 is worth crowing about with a population of 327.17 million. Ya hyperbolic doesn't even begin to describe the left :)

Yeah, the pattern is him trying to minimize this because he is more worried about financial markets than the best interest of the country. We have the entire country of Italy locked down. China had 17 cities quarantined. We have a death rate among the elderly in Kirkland at 13% or greater, and trump is intentionally playing this down rather than giving the facts, like even Pence is doing,

According to Conway, it was "contained" a week ago.

The only one politicizing this is trump. Trumpers are going to die because of trump.

Yes, but for the first time there is a concrete measure of his bs. It doesn't come down to arguments that can be reduced to simple lies and betrayal. It isn't something Republicans can simply deny and bury their heads in the sand.

This time there is a body count.

For example, Conway said it was contained. We have the proof that it wasn't.

Trump is insisting on holding rallies even though he doesn't even need to. Bernie and Biden canceled theirs.

Gee, this is the first time you have realized people die in a flu season ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

CDC: 80,000 People Died From Flu Last Season
The 2017-2018 flu season was the deadliest in at least 40 years.

Since then it has spread to about 20 more States here.

I've met die-hard trumpers who refuse to take any precautions because they think this is all some kind of liberal conspiracy. One of them works as a cashier at a local pharmacy.

What really gets me is that trump doesn't even need to hold rallies. But he is insisting on doing so. Unlike trump, Biden and Sanders, who do actually have motive to hold rallies, are following CDC guidelines and canceled them.

The virus is evidently spreading faster in the Blue States.

Port of entry makes a difference...

Sanders is on his last leg... His campaign is all but over.

And this is great news for Trump. He can now direct all of his attention and comments towards the self-proclaimed guy that is running for the Senate.

    Yup.

In the context of what the Dems. did in cancelling rallies, Trump is (literally) trying to SPREAD the Virus.

    Wow.

Trump has no respect for the Public's Health.:smh:

coronavirus is primarily a city problem. people who live in the country come into contact with far less people every day. that combined with the fact that few conservatives trust anything the media says anymore (with good reason), OP is not surprising in the least.

That's probably true. Although, any place bigger than 20,000 people or so will probably see this thing pop up. I wonder what happens when California and New York get overwhelmed and start wanting to "borrow" healthcare workers in less hard hit states, like how firefighters from different states will work together to fight a really bad fire? Are we going to see fights over healthcare workers? They're going to become a precious commodity soon.
