I did the math .000003% of the US population died out of 360 million people guessing on the undocumented persons and visitors we might lose 1% that's only 360,000 people if simple prudent measures are taken washing hands, if your sick wear a good mask and rubber gloves, protect vulnerable groups in outbreak spots and if needed legally make people stay home or they get forced into hospitals and let the poor use SNAP to buy food online if ordered to stay home etc. we can reduce that a great deal. Simple.

If 1% of the population of China died, they'd lose 13 Million people. Given that they have only had 81,000 cases and lost 3,000 people, how likely do you think it is that they will lose 13 Million (or 1%)?

How's that national emergency at the Southern Border going? The National Emergency is still in effect there, right? American troops are still there stationed and waiting on that invading force of homeless women and children, right?

 

The problem with this argument is that the root cause of the Republicans distrust for the media is still largely Trump, or perhaps it is more accurate to claim that Trump is the result of the Republican distrust for the media.

But either way, this virus is still very serious and the tangible effect of Trump downplaying its threat and bashing the media as the enemy of the people is that Republicans will take less effective and less immediate steps to prepare themselves for the virus.

Hell, if Trump has his way and continues to hold large rallies, he will objectively place more Republicans at risk just to soothe his ego.

 

Neither of the claims in that bolded portion is accurate. There was never a travel ban, it was a travel restriction on certain types of travelers. And the left did not call him racist for imposing that partial travel restriction.
