I believe it is beginning to be more difficult for her do her job due to health reasons. It is without a doubt her choice, but at this point her health should take priority.

I haven't been posting on this forum for very long so that would be impossible. Why do you ask?

Nor should he. If she's putting politics before her health then all interested parties are free to do so as well. Given her history I believe she is far sicker than is being let on, I'm amazed she is still functioning even in a limited capacity. Tough old bird and dedicated.

The left is propping this poor old woman up like Weekend At Berny's and talk to the right about honor?

like anyone would trust Trump or Republicans, get real... RGB is doing fine and going no where

but I wonder if republicans are approaching Trump and asking him to resign over his health issues?

She is not doing "fine". She missed a day of oral arguments last week and is in the hospital, although she may possibly be released soon.

    who the hell cares
Of course you are. After all, I'm in a position to know.

Sad part is, you evidently won't have it otherwise.

Like her or not i think everyone can admit she is tough and dedicated. At her age she shouldn't have to be though.

That's why i was speculating about how she could go enjoy the rest of her life while not having to worry about an immediate replacement by a conservative judge without thr consent of the people.

The people give their consent when they elect a President and of course there will be an immediate replacement with a justice that would have a more conservative history. Who was Obama's conservative pick?

The "Promises" of Trump are as worthless as expecting him to abide by contract of Law. Besides, RBG will fight death until he is gone and win.

RBG is on limited time, and I would expect holding her position for the very reason you stated in your second sentence. However, it should seriously be considered if her mental state is enough to actually make her opinions clearly, or are her clerks doing that for her?

My opinion is she should address her health first and foremost. I don't know if there is history of a SCJ taking 'leave', therefore protecting their position, without actual attendance or voting. I believe it would satisfy many people's position, but not everybody.

Which is exactly why RBG's seat is so important to both sides.

I really don't feel like a president should be in the business of making this kind of a deal. Nature happens. I anticipate that Trump is going to be reelected anyway, so likely her retirement or not isn't going to effect who her replacement is likely to be. Democrats, likely, are going to be crazy about it, but that isn't any different than their current behavior, and that is sad. But RBGs continued service on the court isn't something that should be bartered for, and I think that is what we'd be agreeing to in the above. Nature will take it's course, and she may well serve longer, or she might decide to leave. Either way, I would like that to be her own personal decision.
