Rick Santorum: Libertarians Are Not Conservatives.

That path leads to another 4 years of Obama.

 

They're already voting for Romney & Gingrich so it says enough right there that they want Obama wearing the Republican Red.

 

Shucks, I am not person that wants to oppress groups of people while sending the middle class half way around the world to force other countries and cultures to be like us. Guess I will just have to live with all the people I didn't kill. How can I go on without excluding people from life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

 

Libertarians are also not sour-faced religious radicals and paranoid warmongers. Congrats Sanitarium, you've nailed us.

 

Already done. The 'make it relevant' part is the difficult part; not that many Americans interested in freedom.

 

I'm wondering why this is a news item at all. Santorum's views have been known a long time. He is not a conservative and appears to not understand basic political science. Any form of conservatism has to lean toward libertarianism.

The fact that Fox news is hitting on it now appears to be a wake up call to the party, as you will note the majority of the clip deals with bashing him and the rest of the field with the exception of Ron Paul.

 

I would say that Santorum is a conservative, or at least partly so. In the US conservatism is a three legged stool consisting of national security conservatives, social issues conservatives, and fiscal conservatives.

Santorum does have 2 out of three, but he's no more fiscally conservative than Obama or Bush for that matter. It's ironic that in what should be the year of the Tea Party there are no serious fiscal conservatives running, and this year, that should be the predominate "leg" of the stool.

 

How can you say Ron isnt a "real" fiscal conservative?

 

For real. Paul isn't just "a" fiscal conservative, he is *THE* fiscal conservative.

Well I suppose that s true, no one doubts that Ron Paul is fiscally conservative, however I guess I've just felt he was a perennial fringe candidate, the Kucinich of the Republican party.

Nice post. I think a big problem with republicans is that they really forgot what it means to be conservitive.

 

Funny, Santorum just said he would not use word to put people in groups.

"Libertarians are not conservatives." "Homosexuals don't have the right to be married". Guess that will only start when he becomes POTUS
