The past day on this forum has been a pretty good display of rank hypocrisy among the left leaning members of this forum. After enduring months of civil unrest we were told it was simply "peaceful protest;" don't believe your lying eyes.

Meanwhile I and most of the right leaning posters on this forum, have been fairly consistent, condemning both the summers BLM/Antifa rioting and yesterday's storming of the capital. But with the left, it's still "It's OK when we do it" attitude."

Of course, the left has every organ of the establishment to cover up their double standards, but it's not quite enough.

At the point they charged and entered the capital, yes.

Yes, what happened yesterday was a riot. You won't find one Republican here who will say otherwise; I cannot say the same for the Democrats on this forum about what BLM and Antifa did during the summer. I remember Democrats justifying the riots, calling them protests when they were happening during the summer.

The media and many Democrats are just moral scumbags.

Even more importantly, right leaning individuals don’t shy away from blaming the leadership of the party they support and are calling for action against such actions.
The left just looked the other way, pretended riots and destruction don’t exist and continued to blindly support the leadership of the party they support.

It's "part of his legacy", a Republican says.

    Oh yeah, lotsa hypocrisy.

Yeah I'm seeing a lot more consistency on the right than the left on this issue.

    Please, dump that pile elsewhere.

Over the summer those protests were about the murder of African Americans by the police.

    This? THIS?

This is a temper tantrum by a bunch of spoiled 4 year olds throwing their worst fit over having their favorite toy taken away.

You should be ashamed of yourself for your defense of this.
THIS was not a riot. This was not civil protest.

This was an attack on our Congress for doing its Constitutionally sworn duty in accordance with the laws.

It would be nice if you people could feel shame but, this is what I saw...

Fox News about 15:30 1/6/2021: Some show and a guy being interviewed speaking to the "terrorists" warning them at 3:30 to get off the streets by dark because at dark the BLM and ANTIFA people would be coming out. SERIOUSLY! That was what he said.
Hypocrite Republicans clucking their tongues and wagging their fingers bemoaning the very violence they've been encouraging for the last 5 years.

But let's hear it for Lincoln Project and the other Republicans with a conscience. I watched Rubio the last day trying to claim the high ground after the Hawley/Cruz/Cotton crash-burn and wanted to just puke. They're coming for your Marco, Teddy, Joshy...Resign now and dust off the resume.

What murder? In 2019 1 black person was murdered by police. One. All others were justified shootings. I haven't seen 2020 stats yet. When they come out let me know. We can go from there.

The "hypocrisy" is right there in the headline that reads TRUMP INCITES MOB.

You're once again trying to muddy the waters. No one is denying that some of the BLM events throughout the last year became a starting point for riots, but when you look at the events themselves, none of them were incited by any government official, except for Trump. That little detail is what you want to wash away. Trump's clarions call throughout the 4 years of his term has been planting these seeds of which the Capitol Hill incident is the grand finale he's been producing all along.

Every Democratic legislator has condemned the violence from the BLM events, but this hypocrisy of trying to paint the BLM incidents as all of them turning into riots is the sort of thing that Faux Noise and the rest of the Looney-Tune right rag media have been spouting. They have spent so much time over-exaggerating the level of violence from these events that it is a joke. You would think that according to some of the Trump apologist posts on here, you would think the city of Portland would be a pile of ash by now. The Portland incidents are confined to a two block city square.

More importantly, the last line reads in that July 2020 NYT article, "The aim, as it has been in other cities, was to assemble for sweeping police reform and racial justice". This is the part you are purposely ignoring.

Trump encouraged and incited his supporters to overturn a legitimate election because the cry baby LOST. That is a big freaking difference from the racial injustice sparked by George Floyd's death which is the ongoing rift that is driving this craziness of Trump supporters. The redneck rebels and skinheads involved in yesterday's insurrection is the "race war" they have always wanted. Trump delivered it. That's why Trump needs to be brought up on charges of sedition.

So what you're saying is that three months or rioting and arson, with about $2 billion in property damage is OK because you approved their cause, but since you don't approve of this cause, it's bad.

My point in this thread is that rioting is ALWAYS wrong. I can say it, and you can't. And the fact that you reserve violence, not to the state, but to your buddies and your causes, is incompatible with democracy.

Oh wait, I guess it IS OK to occupy the capital!

Could you quote me the part of his speech that incited the riot? I missed that.

Funny thing, if ANTIFA or BLM had done the exact same thing yesterday, the -exact- same thing, the narrative would be completely reversed, but the damage would be immensely worse.

Go ahead and lie to the forum, completely "organic" LW posters, I dare you.

It's also funny to watch them bootlick the "fascists" in Washington all around here too. No consistency, no self-awareness.

    Not fooling anyone.

Did BLM/Antifa barge Capitol Hill when Trump was certified in 2016? No? Okay then.

Can't defend what happened yesterday with a hypothetical situation.

Nope. I wouldn't condone breaking into buildings and looting. You assume I would. That's what's wrong.

You are lying I have spoken against the looting and rioting regardless of WHO IS DOING IT. Destroying property regardless of public or private is idiotic because we the American taxpayer windup paying to replace it either via taxes if public or higher insurance premiums if it is private property. It accomplishes absolutely nothing positive. It only hurts BLM when they loot and rob and destroy and harass the public in any way You attract a lot more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

I did hear an opinion guest commentator tell an NBC news anchor today that the "rumors" that Antifa members were present at yesterday's rally were outright lies and conspiracy theories. LOL

The lies and conspiracies come from the corporate media "news" feeds.

To be fair and balanced (unlike corporate media) yesterday Ngo did say that he did not believe that most of yesterday's troublemakers were Antifa thugs. Today he has been sorting through the photos, identifying individuals and any group associations.

Anarchists from all groups and ideologies will show up and mix in with a big protest crowd.

Oh, Yeah! CNN would be airing stories about capitol being built from proceeds on profits earned from slaves. Most lawmakers are white, they are all racists, they all deserve it because their great great great great great great great parents might have owned slaves.
    White guilt.
    Racism.
