Yes... every 4 years we have some band with Liberal ideology get upset that a conservative played their music.

Just send a nice letter and I am sure it will stop and another band can reap the exposure.

Obviously not you, the foam that was coming out of your mouth that night must have taken over your tax dollar funded living room.

But isn't that one of the things you guys are fighting for? To stop stealing from others for personal gain?? Kinda hypocritical to just brush this off if you ask me...just saying...

Seems like Springsteen got upset about Reagan playing Born in the USA. I would think the Silversun Pickups would be happy that someone was playing there music. I've never heard of them.

Is this any different than bands cranking out tunes on their P.A.s before the band comes on? Is there any actual requirement that they get permission?

Let's not discuss the economic future of America.

The economy! Sir did you not realize that some obscure alt rock musicians need some publicity? I guess we see where your priorities lay!

Perhaps this is a calculated business move on their part. This may be the first time their music is being played nationally, but no one is really even noticing. If they whine about it the left-wing blogs will pick up on this and perhaps some of their leftist followers will actually purchase some of their music. Just a theory.

Get a license and you have a complete library of tunes that can be played without anyone’s permission.

The millions these arse-clowns take in to market themselves, and they don’t have anyone smart enough on their campaign to understand the legal process? These people are supposed to be examples for respecting the laws of the land, so where are the fines that come with the misuse of an artists music, no matter what party they are beholding too?

Good theory. It is UNQUESTIONABLY, the most "heat" they have ever generated, thanks to Romney, quixotically enough...

They didn't create that music. Someone else built the roads and bridges used to make that music.

First of all, I haven't seen one shred of evidence that royalties were not paid; do these unknowns even OWN their own rights?

They are getting MORE ATTENTION NOW, than their lameass music EVER GOT THEM.

Yup. It's going to be great when he starts ranting about China and intellectual property theft.

looks like they had a license, but you can file a court motion for anything, does not mean you will win the motion. In this situation it does guarantee you some cheap publicity

Or they are simply capitalists that don't appreciate their property being used for free. Just saying.

Or, they are standard Leftninnies, and don't know WTF they are talking about, such as whether or not a licensing fee had been paid....and are DESPERATELY trying to milk this for the far greater press it's bringing than their amateurish music ever could...
