The Internet we are using today has very to do with the government. But I don't mind giving AlGore credit where credit is due.
yea, i mean, of course if you cut spending, then that will hurt the economy in the short run - you have to make up for it in other ways maybe he went over the head of the public though - this is why people say as little as possible the other side is just waiting to use any words to knock you down - just smile instead and use catch words
Imagine..we end all Governmental spending on the military over night.. Think your job might be at risk ? ask those when they talk about base closings here at home.. Look at the Romney line again..see where it says PART OF HIS RESPONSE. We need to see the question and the entire deal..not another I like to FIRE people moment.. Think if we ended all evil gasoline engine use..what your world would look like..spending is necessarily for SOME THINGS. Cutting for cuttings sake is just more politics for the vote. Build another base on the moon. The devil attacks America.. and you hammer the guy who speaks reality ?
lol touche I figured he would at least be smart enough to wait until he was done with the primary....I knew he would abandon most of his RW positions, but not yet!
I am sure Romney understands the concept of crowding out in regards to government spending. In the comments found in the OP, Romney is likely pointing out that from a Keynesian perspective, spending cuts are not an expansionary fiscal policy. They are a contractionary fiscal policy. Therefore, to stabilize such policies, Mitt Romney believes in a "pro-growth tax policy." This obviously implies tax cuts. Depending on the size and scope of the tax cuts, it can completely counteract the detrimental effects of spending cuts upon economic growth, or yield positive economic growth. Any person who understands the effect of government fiscal policy from the perspective of most economists should be able to see right through to what Romney was actually forwarding. However, the liberal media, the far right, and the President will boil this down to undesirable moral intent.
I always knew Romney had a brain. He was just saying stupid things because that's what he had to do to get elected. Unfortunately that speaks even worse to him in my mind. He should just join the democrats. He can be a blue dog. I think he'd be much happier here.
Romney is a center-right moderate, so it's not surprising that he subscribes, at least, in part, to some tenets of Keynesian theory. And it's not as if his statement is entirely incorrect, nor does it make him any less "conservative" than Gingrich and Santorum, but saying that in a GOP primary is just not smart at all.
Romney's statement was not an endorsement of progressive economic ideology. Romney was merely regurgitating the classic Keynesian theory, which progressives like Obama, Reid, and Pelosi haven't actually been practicing as Keynes intended. Obviously, they cherry-pick aspects of Keynesian theory that are politically advantageous to them, but they are not "true" Keynesians. How Obama got Keynes wrong
I don't know if we would have an internet or not. Would there be no airplanes if the Wright brothers never lived?
There are some problems with Romney's Keynesian perspective. It is not entirely expansionary fiscal policy. Expansionary fiscal policy would imply spending increases and tax cuts, not spending cuts and tax cuts. As I stated, unless the tax cuts are more emphatic than the spending cuts, such a policy serves as a stabilizer. As ethereal stated, Romney subscribes to a degree to Keynesian economic theory. However, like the President, he is not a purist.
If you had an ounce of common sense, you would realize that the U.S. could never end up like Greece, no matter how much money it borrows.
Housing prices always increase..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA puff puff give..... How much money will george soros make when America goes bankrupt?
lol they are so sure right until they change their mind.... come November they will be singing the tune from feb.....
I stand by my comments. I would have rather had Ron Paul, but he didnt win. Now my only choices are Obama or Romney.....
