You keep accusing me of pretending.

That tells me that you are reading my posts through the filter of your biases.

Maybe it would be helpful to publish a complete list of words that seem racist/patronizing.

Can you not see the imbalance that exists when it's acceptable for one political side to call the other side all manner of foul slanders, but the other side can't say 'articulate'?

I know that the left has been using that hateful, divisive weapon for decades, but I think the other poster truly believes it.

Actually, I think most of them truly believe it. They are truly deluded into believing that the US is fundamentally racist. I don't think any of them have the intelligence required to see past that delusion!

One spare me your fowl sander b.s. because the head of the Republican party called a candidate's father an assassin and his wife ugly and that guy belonged to the same party as him, I have no time for that my side your side nonsense, if you want a serious conversation be serious.

Two, do you or do you not know that blacks in large part find being described as articulate patronizing?

Three do you know how silly you sound crying about not being able to use "articulate"? Blacks used to be beaten in the streets for trying to vote, let alone run for office. Is not being able to say articulate your grave injustice? Is it unfortunate that we live in a society where the wrong word can ignight centuries old fears and mistrust? Absolutely. But that certainly isn't black people's fault. Sorry you can't live in a world free from the shackles of history but don't take it out on the previously shackled.

Bernie Sanders’ political/economic philosophy won’t go over well in Florida.

Of course. Except of course he won his primary from fourth place with the help of Bernie. A Texas man should be more worried whether a Bernie backed candidate is going to beat Ted Cruz.

    I got nothing left.

I just glad that I don't give my power over my life to others, who I would allow to control my emotions. I see no value in carrying around ages-old resentments, hate , and anger.

Maybe, but if you keep using words like articulate and monkey you are going to give all your political power to Progressives.

Hogwash. Do you have any clue how many clips there are of politicians using the expression monkey around or monkey up the way it is meant to be used? Including Obama?

If any of them were specifically referencing a black person or a group of black people, then they ALSO made a racist statement.

Andrew would be in total control of the agenda? It wouldn't have to go through the Florida Senate? Surely you can't be serious.

Do you ALWAYS think about what you're going to say before you say it? Lets just talk about the "monkey" remark - you're assuming that during that TV interview, he knew that what he was about to say had racial connotations to it, and even though he knew that he could've easily used "screw this up" instead, he DELIBERATELY went with "monkey" anyway. Don't you see how utterly absurd that idea is?

And I am saying that he was already guaranteed of them going out and voting! You've said yourself that his base would be the Trump supporters. Well why the hell would they NOT get out and vote for a guy who got his kid to BUILD A WALL and dressed another kid in a MAGA ONESIE?

Okay, then forget about proof. Why do you have the feeling that he has been racist his whole life? That really is an extraordinary assumption.

Oh yeah, that was me! It was indeed "long" and "drawn out" but I don't see how it was "senseless." It was a good discussion I thought.

Why would deliberately using monkey be absurd when it's my argument that he meant to use monkey in the first place?
Are you claiming that 100% of registered Republicans vote in every race? You say "they" will go out and vote for him. Who's "they"? Show me one race where 100% of registered voters actually voted.
I already think he's a racist it's not a stretch to imagine he's been one most his life.
Senless was unfair. (I suppose I do speak before I think sometimes) It wasn't the worst conversation I've had online with someone I disagree with.

I was really addressing your remark that you "can allow for the small chance DeSantis is just a moron." How is it only a "small chance" if it is very easy to accidentally speak out of turn?

Do you suspect that it was something that he planned before the interview?

Not 100% of Republicans. "They" is his base, to which you referred. Why the hell would his Trump supporting BASE not get
out and vote for a guy who got his kid to BUILD A WALL and dressed another kid in a MAGA ONESIE?

Nice convenient dodge by picking up on the "whole life" part. I'll try again. Why do you have the feeling that he is a racist? That really is an extraordinary assumption.

I am commenting on his comments. What he said. Not how he might influence a legislative agenda.

Yea saw that. It reeked of desperation. Suffice it to say I got distracted trolling confused Republicans who hate Democrats except for the ones who owned slaves whom for some reason (racism) they love. I was going to take time to give you a more measured response. Screw it though. Let's skip all the nonsense. It's obvious your just using a different definition of "base" than I am. For you I'm guessing "base" means people who are absolutely going to vote. I was using "base" to describe people who when they vote only vote Republican. Hence my story of my Bernie supporting brother who never actually got up to vote.

What use is a base that doesn't vote? In my mind, that isn't a base. Is it in your mind?

Obviously I just said as much. I've said it a few times now. Certainly a percentage of them always vote but that varies election to election, candidate to candidate. Some candidates excite the base more than others. Take Trump for example. Him and Ted Cruz have the same base but they like Trump more than Cruz so Trump would get higher numbers, not just out of the entire electorate but from Republicans as well. See the base aren't loyal to candidates, they are loyal to Republican ideals and conservative policy. It's not really DeSantis base. It's the Republican base and DeSantis is the candidate. That base isn't loyal to DeSantis, some Republicans voting for him in the general voted for his opponent in the primary. He has to convince the Republican base that he's going to represent their values and in Florida that means dog whistle racism. I've lived here all my life. You drive 15 min. outside Miami, Orlando or Tampa and its Confederate flags all over the place.
