Do you have a historical example of an alliance forming by itself?

Al Qaeda is committed to killing Americans. Iran has called for our destruction. Same with N. Korea. Peace is impossible with so many threatening the US. Alliances are essential.

    It's absolutely necessary.

    1. in world war 2, a common enemy brought multiple nations together

    2. those nations are threatening us because we've been infringing upon their freedom, building bases in their backyards, trying to capitalize on their resources, and sending resources to their enemies. we wouldn't be threatened if we just stayed out of it. if we pretended the rest of the world didn't exist as far as foreign intervention is concerned, they'd do the same to us.

    3. its only necessary because we've brought it upon ourselves. as soon as we abandon our politically motivated ventures into fights that aren't ours to fight, the necessity will no longer exist.

the world has problems because it creates problems for itself out of ignorance and greed. by intervening we only stoop to their uncivilized level, and bring ourselves the same misfortune that they've been bringing to each other. we stand nothing to gain from playing the game.

No..that's not true. They hate us and attack us because of our freedoms. How dare we have beautiful landscaped lawns and blue mailboxes and happy hours and Sunday football. That's the reason they attack us because our Government says so!!

it'd almost be sane to agree (with your sarcasm), if it weren't for the messages sent by the terrorist organizations and governments, that have threatened us, that clearly state that our involvement in their affairs is the reason for the hatred they direct toward us.

continued alliance-making and game-playing is only going to make them hate us more. let's be honest, if they were doing this to our country, what would we do?

the right thing to do is apologize for being the ignorant and corrupt nation that we are, and get the f' out before their hatred is permanent. maybe we won't get what we deserve...hopefully. maybe they'll see our recession, civil unrest, and fall from power as self-imposed punishment, and being fair enough
