Roy Moore Launches Another Senate Campaign in Alabama Amid Sharp GOP Opposition

My bet is that Moore will never face another democrat opponent in a U.S. Senate race. And, no, Alabama Republicans did not vote for Moore against the democrat. They sat out the vote or voted for Jones, which is the main reason Jones won.

 

He stopped campaigning to visit his son at the end of the campaign.
Republicans would be very foolish if they ever nominate Moore for any office again.

 

Strange circumstances, because Trump's first choice was found to be involved in a scandal (not looking into the former governor Bentleys' scandal), and was then nominated by Bentley to be the place holder for Sessions' seat.

 

I agree totally. Moore is a semi-senile old man who shouldn't be running for any office but president of the retirement home......(which is a non-partisan seat)

It was the first time a Democrat got more than 30 or 40% of the vote since Shelby turned Republican in 1994.

 

How come there was never any closure on that? Far as I can tell everything disappeared the minute the election was over. It would be impossible to attempt to bring it back up having not followed through. Since nothing actually came of the allegations, why shouldn't Moore run again? It would be a nail in the coffin of Me Too, not the other way around. People are more wary now of decades old allegations without any supporting evidence, and there was never any supporting evidence last time he ran...

Oh, I agree..... If I could figure out a way to donate MILLIONS to the Elect Roy Moore fund (without costing me a penny), I'd do it in a heartbeat...

He didn't get so far as rape (that we know of). It would have been statutory rape if sex was involved. He just liked to date and grope them (you can see why Trump is a fan!).

Oh, no. Moore was VERY popular in Alabama before his sexual predilections came to light. He was re-elected as chief of the state Supreme Court even after he broke federal law. They only abandoned him when the pedophilia allegations came to light and they could no longer hide their shame.

He was not VERY popular people were holding their noses to vote for him over Luther Strange. Then the Democrats made sure the allegations did not come out until past the date he could be removed from the ballot by the Republican state party.

 

So why is he called a rapist? Who did he rape? Do you also call Clinton a rapist?
