It means they have no 'city water', as in they are not connected to the water grid.

Only if they are not kept up regularly. Just like any thing else.

When looking at the demographics of those convicted of crimes, they tend to be low on the economic and educational scales. A demographic that is no stranger to rural America.

One day a country boy went to visit his cousin who lived in the city. They went out and about and at some point they stopped by a restroom. After they did their business, the city cousin washed his hands, but the country cousin did not, prompting the city cousin to say, “Here in the city, we wash our hands after using the toilet”. The country cousin replied, “In the country, we don’t pee on our hands”.

As it was and long has been. It is not profitable to run electric or phone lines to the far reaches of the middle of nowhere. It has taken government action for such services to be made available and then subsidized them to make them affordable.

Real stupid is passing "laws" that keep people from carrying those guns.

Power to the people works better than power to the police - every time.

Less Guns = More Crime - for rather obvious reasons.

You should post something that makes sense, something substantive.

And I am furious that it is being proposed to be done at MY expense.
If the bitches wish to live as hermits, why should I pick up the bill?
Maybe if they did not use their money for oxycontin and the like they could afford their own connection the the rest of the world?
I don't see them skipping their beers for a better life. They already get way to much welfare. Enough already.

Oh I been to to southern Oregon, Medford, White city, Grants pass, Gold hill and I wasn't all that impressed, or did I experience all that cultural or intellectual discord, but the Mountain Man rendezvous was fun..

As for medical, well my father in law died from ruptured aorta above his kidneys "Long story short" after lifting something heavy and the ER told him to see a chiropractor. The next day he was blind from loss of blood and both kidneys failed from lack of blood all night.. Sure they fixed the rupture the next day, same hospital but he died anyway..

Ya Oregon is perfect, right ;)

Just like everywhere in the U.S. every state has it's ups and down ;)

Well when you really look at it, the left think even the police should be disarmed, defunded and far more lenient towards the criminal.. That includes allowing them to KEEP THEIR GUNS as they have been doing for more then a decade now.. Everything will be just peachy once we all have illegal weapons and at that point we will just have to work on nonviolent illegals having the same rights as violent illegal gun owners..

Ya it reads sort of complicated from most angles, but try seeing it thru the deranged view of a DNC policy maker and it becomes almost BIBLICAL, God like if you want!

You make an excellent point against illegal immigration and minorities in this country.. If only the rest of the U.S. had adopted the same rules of residency the Oregonians did with black and other unsuitable migrants while they were a territory.. See how well Oregon has done by not allowing blacks alone to take up residency in Oregon..

Oregon may well be the birth place of America's first and most successful White Supremacist nation!!

God Is Dead, Man Is God = A Popular Syphilitic Fantasy

"The great high-modernist episodes that we have examined qualify as tragedies in at least two respects. First, the visionary intellectuals and planners behind them were guilty of hubris, of forgetting that they were mortals and acting as if they were gods. Second, their actions, far from being cynical grabs for power and wealth, were animated by a genuine desire to improve the human condition - a desire with a fatal flaw . . . optimistic views of progress and rational order . . . ecumenical character of the high-modernist faith."
James C. Scott, SEEING LIKE A STATE, How Certain Schemes to Improve the Human Conditions Have Failed, Yale Agrarian Studies, New Haven - Yale University Press, 1998. (342).

    Trumpism personified.

Just say anything regardless of fact or truth.

Me thinks you have this view of those that live out in the boonies as all being redneck hillbillies (in the negative sense).

I don't care what they are, I had to pay for my own internet service, they should have to pay for their own.
    I do not support socialism.

Trump is living in your brain. Rent free. That saying has been said for decades now. To attribute it to "Trumpism" is just showing hatred.

Because of your simplistic analysis you post as such.
Trumpism is the perpetrator of factual rejection and defiant lying.
My post is an utterance of absolute fact.

Something you should consider, if you can break the spell.

Your posts don't come across as such. They come across as supporting elitism. And you see city folks as being superior to those living in the boonies.

Btw, did you know that much of the infrastructure for the internet in cities was subsidized by the government? Indeed if it wasn't for the government we might not even have the internet. You should look up the history of the internet and government involvement.

If it was an utterance of fact as you claim, then you wouldn't have said "Trumpism". Because factually that statement has been said long before Trump arrived on the scene. Which is what the phrase is about. Trump.

The actions of the hillbilly make clear the superiority of the urbanite.
You purposely misrepresent government involvement in the evolution of the internet.
What the government helped to found was what is referred to as the backbone of the internet. This had zero to do with delivery to end-users.
The hillbillies were afforded the same access.
That end users in rural areas still have no access to high speed internet is a direct result of their life style choice which makes it expensive to deliver.
Run you nonsense on someone else.

Listen, I have a country home. No city water or sewer., No public garbage pick up.... I am not asking the Fed to come rescue me for my lifestyle choice.

    Lol

I love the urban elite, with their fancy diplomas, walking around patting each other on the backs.

I've been there. Lived and worked in the city for a decade. I have the diploma too, worked the same jobs.

I'm here to tell you, many of those self proclaimed intellectuals lack simple common sense. Like, outside the books they were border like retarded. I mean that, in the common sense department, I think they have something wrong with their brains.

Which just goes to show that you don't know a damn thing about hillbillies. And that you have an elitist complex.

Helped to found? Or helped to fund?

And yes, they also helped to fund access to the internet to poor people. And not just those in the boonies. But also urbanites.

    As was urbanites.

The way you phrase this I would bet that "country home" was more like a secondary home. Perhaps a hunting or vacation lodge? Which means you don't live there on a permanent basis. Am I right?
