I hate rush Limbaugh’s politics and think his show and others inspired by him (Glenn beck, Hannity etc) are the reason conservatives are totally oblivious to facts and reality. But I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone. Hope he makes a full recovery.

He was fond of cigars, though you'd have to smoke those pretty regularly for it to be a lung cancer risk. But, yeah, you can get it without smoking too. My dad has smoked several cigarettes a day for years and his lungs seem (relatively) fine -- no cancer, at least. A friend of mine has smoked 2 cigarettes in her entire life and has lung cancer.

Original Dittohead here, fortunate to listen to Rush' very first show in August of 1988 and staying with him throughout all these years. Rush has brought many a happy laugh into my life, bashing Liberals and in general, being funny.

I remember during his early years a caller complained that sometimes Rush bangs on his desk to make a point... a rush of bangs ensued with "take this... and this" I know it does not sound funny describing it, but ROLF moment for me it was. Another time, Rush commented on how driving in his car to work a woman in the car next to him was farting. Of course, Rush said farding, but imaging the scores of outraged, pissed righteous people calling, chastizing Rush while for me and others it was another ROFL moment, one of many more to come.

Get well soon, El Rushbo, we need you.

Generally speaking cigars give you oral cancer not lung cancer.

Advanced lung cancer is probably still an automatic death sentence. 'A truth-teller to the perpetually angry Left.' There could be worse epitaphs.

{Shrug} Or RBG's that the Constitution is not something that new nations should use as a blueprint. She prefers the Communist Manifesto instead. A dying patriot versus a dying closet Marxist. Sweet!

As a 2018 Stage 4 cancer survivor, I wish Rush the best. I wouldn’t wish cancer or the treatment on anyone.

I had a tracheotomy & cancer on the base of my tongue, voice box & salivary gland.

While I was in ICU after my tracheotomy my wife found out her breast cancer spread to her liver and she was stage 4.

I survived, but unfortunately my wife passed away and I was left raising a 10 & 11 year old alone.

After almost 2 years from my last treatment, my tracheotomy has been reversed, but I have severe hearing loss from cisplatin chemo and my thyroid stopped working from 35 rounds of radiation.

I also had a feeding tube for 3 months & lost 65 pounds from that and losing my taste buds. After 2 years my taste buds are almost back, but I have to eat very slow because I have shelves in my throat from scar tissue that hampers my swallowing and I need a lot of fluids with every meal to wash things down.

Cancer is horrible & I would pray for anyone that had it.

There's no reason to act like a child. You asked for a link, I told you he announced it on his show.

You should publish your case study of one with New England Journal of Medicine. I am sure, though, that in your mind these medical journals are just left wing rags that want to regulate the life of upstanding patriotic smokers.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Life can be very unfair at times. My kids are 10 and 14, couldn't imagine raising them alone. Hang in there.

It's common sense that non-smokers can get lung cancer and heavy smokers can stay healthy. What's the point of a study? Many people have witnessed the same thing. Shop Foreman where I work has smoked since he was like 13 years old. He smokes 3 packs a day and is in his mid 60's. Other than a grumbly voice, he's fine.

It seems to be all about genetics. My father was a chain smoker and died at 67. My mother was with him for fifty years inhaling second hand smoke, and she is still going strong at age ninety.

I'm fortunate with my asthma diagnosis, it meant the risk for me smoking was 100 x greater than others and hence I can stay away from it without feeling like a 'loser'. I do wish the best for this dude, but the cases on health make it clear.
