Trump was not beaten at the polls. But he was beaten by the criminality and mafia tactics used by the Democrats to save their skin. So what's their rationale in using such tactics? Well they see it as the end justifying the means - and since they are not deplorables like us, and not hindered by the idiocies of conscience and morality, means they have the power and the knowledge and the greatness to know what's best. So how dare we doubt the election results?

Another irrational rant without any proof whatever. Conscience and Morality. Were are yours supporting a man whose life is just what you describe. Criminality?Perhaps we shall see what happens to him when he appears before courts - even in Republican states. The Law does not respect parties when it comes to criminal acts.

4 hours ago · The White House reportedly blocked a statement that would have confirmed Russia was behind a cyber attack on United States government agencies, but Donald Trump has dismissed. His secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, had said on Friday evening that Russia was “pretty clearly” responsible for the attack, which is believed to be among the most serious on record.

    Reported in several papers.

Russia likely knew Trump had no chance of winning the election, so they went ahead and infiltrated our systems knowing Trump wouldn't do a damn thing.

Interesting that Trump yelps about massive election fraud and shows no evidence. Here, we have a very real attack on America and he's too afraid to confront the hackers.

    What should the response be?

That's brilliant! You must absolutely notify your member of Congress so that he can pass on this idea of "tightening security!"

I wonder why no one has thought of that?

Blaming Russia instead of China would be a start.

Well I guess you've solved it. Blame Russia and they'll stop.

There is no attack by Russia that warrants anything. It's just another excuse by the MSM to demonize Russia the way they were doing for 4 years with the Russiagate lie, and more recently blaming the revelations about Hunter Biden as Russia disinformation. Does Russia know how to get into our systems? Of course they do, but it doesn't mean that they would.

Trump didn't mention Iran or Russia since China is our biggest and only threat. The Intelligence agencies were supposed to present their report on interference in our election on the 18th, but they didn't because some agencies are holding back on China. What are they afraid of?

In order to defend against something, you have to recognize and admit there is a problem. Trump so far is acting like the friend who got cheated on by his girlfriend and is lashing out at you for telling him the truth. It looks pathetic to the rest of the world. Russia just committed the biggest cyber hack in US history, and all Trump can say is "it can't be them. I won't believe it! Now how about that China!"

    SAD.

Trump is going to be gone in less than a month so Biden will be deciding (or his handlers) a response, if any. I'm just curious what sort of response we have in our toolbox with Russia. Sanction them for the 100th time? It sounds like you are complaining about something that you really are not interested in doing something about, so I'll ask if you have some sort of response in mind that would actually hurt Russia?

I agree - it was not Russia, we should trust Russian leaders. It is not President's Putin fault that all over the world some people poison themselves with novichok and journalists are committing suicide:

Preventing Russia from infiltrating our systems would hurt them. Investing more in cybersecurity would be a good thing. Trump diverted $270 million in 2019 from cybersecurity spending. Looks like a good investment now doesn't it?

Trump doesn't think he will be gone in a month, so right now would be a time he should respond.

OK so you don't really respond to the Russians, you just want to spend more money on "cybersecurity."

    Got it.

I can think of any number of retaliatory actions that would be very effective. For instance in conjunction with allies FREEZING all Putins foreign assets. Just to get his attention you understand. The Russian economy sure has hell cant handle a trade war as well as say China.oo

Biden will make sure that the hammer will come down but we may not be aware to exactly what extent.

What vital Russian imports could we cut off in this trade war? Caviar?

Agree. In testing timing too. Putin has Donald's number.......and has outsmarted him all along.
Donald's minimizing it the way he has (and blaming China) is a threat to security and anti American. (and very Trumpian INCOMPETENT )

Well you can limit access Russia has to American technology to constrain oil and gas exploration. They could also bolster military support in the Baltic regions to deter Russia. These are only a couple of ideas, but I think they are better starting points than what Trump will do which is ask Putin nicely if Russia was behind the hacking and then tweet about China.

At the very least, Trump should come out and admonish Russia. Just say something even if it's symbolic. Have a spine.

Never before has the US looked so powerless.

Don't have a Member of Congress thank goodness. I'm British. Obviously no one has thought of it or you wouldn't have these problems. Perhaps your people aren't as smart as the hackers. On the other hand, neither are ours. We have similar problems. :frustrated:
