    How exactly is it not?

I think that, like another poster in this thread said, the name alone would indicate that women are not included as they should be.

Is there a political party muslim sisterhood?

Oh hell, lol, now I have to ask another question of you.

Why is there now a need to have an "anti Mubarak" protest?

*My apologies, I don't mean to be purposely aggravating.*

I don't take it as aggravating.

Anti- Mubarak because many think that this current wave of violence is organized and orchestrated by the regime in exile ( and in Tora prison).

On another subject, we are 3 days before western christmas here in cairo. For the first time in my memory there are no decorations at the hotels. Hotel resorts are readily available for slashed prices. Very sad.

However, I am writing this to you in my kitchen where I am making mulled wine ( while we can still buy wine-ha ha) and listening to the Christmas station on SkyFM. My son has his friends over to decorate the tree - which he does annually. They are all Muslims but love this tradition ( and the mulled wine) and all wish me a very merry christmas. So- a nice interlude in a rather uneasy week.

Merry Christmas to all of you from Egypt which is so close to where Christmas began. Egypt, which protected and sheltered the Holy Family.

    I asked first.

I don't think it's prudent to judge some organizations by their name alone, but rather by the policies they currently adhere to.

Thank you so much M! The explanation makes perfect sense.

And, it warms my heart to know that even amid the turmoil and uncertainty that surrounds you and your family, you can still find joy at this time of year. ;)

I wish you safety, peace and happiness.

I'm all for letting the Middle East and North Africa mostly take care of themselves, but "stronger faith" is usually synonymous with things like this...

Oh since you seem to be familiar with then perhaps you would be kind enough to tell me which women have leadership roles in the party. I think it is very prudent to consider the significance of a name. It may have been chosen for a reason. Crazy thought!

the treatment of woman in every single Arab state is subpar and their status is subhuman, requiring 4 male witnesses to file a rape charge, not being allowed to drive and a largely apathic attitude towards rape and anti female behaviour

Well according to the latter link:

    Furthermore:

What one should understand is change does not happen overnight, especially not to a country that's been ruled by indifferent dictators for decades. It's going to take time, so don't be surprised with more stories like the OP....

According to a Arab Women activist, who protested the government military (2 days ago), stated that they had several groups in Egypt and none had any violence upon them, and they were peceful protest without incident.

I think the military knows they have eyes on them and these kinds of incidents will me less.

We in the USA need more Hoda Kotby's in the media. Come on jewish programers, give the USA what they want.
