Senator Joe Manchin has also stepped up, also calling for Biden to resume US energy production.

    It's bipartisan.

Biden should cut off the $20 billion direct subsidies we give to Big Oil and use it to buy low cost electric cars for the economically disadvantaged. That would bring us to emissions specs right there.

No, that’s wrong. You use what we have plentiful now and transition to the other as it becomes economically viable in our capitalist system. The prices of wind and solar are coming down as are electric vehicles. The range of electric vehicles is growing. Still only natural gas and oil can produce on an economy of scale for industry and air travel. We could use more nuclear to power ships and provide power for electric and hydrogen fuel cell cars in the future

you dont produce electric vehicles, if you dont have the infrastructure to support it. Who will buy an electric car if their is no place to charge it ? Would you buy a gas car if their was only 3 gas stations in your town ? In this instance, you have to put the cart in front of the horse.

Nobody said we are not going to produce any oil or gas? But we wont be as dependent on it when we change the demand for that product. Thats all Biden is doing here when he says we need to move to electric. He is NOT stopping the production of fossil fuels, he is incentivizing the use or electric vehicles. You cannot change behavior if you dont incentivize the right ones. And thier are other driving factors that are driving the move to electric, one of them being greenhouse gas emissions. We have to look at a bigger picture than "we have a lot of oil"

Biden gives special needs excuses like "we need to investigate grocery chains for high prices!" And the low info crowd eats it up.

They don't know what inflation is, or supply and demand, or any other BASIC economics facts.

But they heard a late night TV Comedian say it on his show so it's true!

This is a politics forum, ID be embarrassed to comment in a thread where I clearly have no idea of the subject matter.
