The DNC servers were hacked by Guccifer 2.0, an agent of the Russian GRU.

Shortly thereafter, they used a cutout to inform Trump via one of his "senior foreign policy advisors" that the Russians had the DNC e-mails. Since the Russians already had a long standing relationship with Trump, they made sure Trump knew what he had.

There is little doubt in my mind that the infamous Trump Tower meeting that Don Jr was stupid enough to set up (and that Manafort was stupid enough not to cancel) is not the only one.

Indeed, the Courts have determined that Manafort lied about his discussions with Sergi Kislyak, which happened AFTER the Trump Tower meeting.

 

That's the first I have heard of that.
