CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network's liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network's corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air. At the same time, Attkisson's own reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting. She is currently at work on a book -- tentatively titled "Stonewalled: One Reporter's Fight for Truth in Obama's Washington" -- which addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the Obama administration. More: http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2014/03/sharyl-attkisson-to-leave-cbs-news-184836.html I've thought highly of Attkisson for a number of years. She's an honest reporter victimized first by hackers to her personal computers and then pushed aside when she asked tough questions of the Obama Administration. Maybe Attkisson can get a new gig somewhere where they can use her talents and want to do some honest reporting. I'm surprised that more real journalists haven't followed suit.
Well when the Fortune magazine article on Fast and Furious came out, I would have been asking Sheryl if she had an agenda. Anyway I am sure she will do well on Fox.
Its entertaining who liberals ask 'have an agenda'. Did any liberal think that Lois Lerner had an agenda? Of course, one person is a reporter who can only report, and the other is a powerful Government figure who can ruin lives and businesses. But these kinds of comparisons are uncomfortable for liberals, if they had principles, reason and judgement. So no bother at all, really.
She was the ONLY reporter at CBS that would even touch Benghazi, so that is gone. Her computers during the Benghazi investigation were hacked. No one ever discovered who did it. She was also sidelined by CBS even though she was bringing in valuable scoops that no other network could match. CBS has no stomach for a person that does not follow the Democrat / Liberal agenda most of the time. This is just another nail in the already buried coffin of the National News Media journalism by the broadcast networks.
Maybe, but IMO she'd be great asset to Beck's group. She's more inclined to investigate regardless of how she leans politically or who's cage it raddles. A rather unique quality in todays elite media circles.
There are real jouralists out there who are in line with their constitutional rights and are watch dogs, but what we have in most media are gaurd dogs of the regime where thruth is what they tell you the truth is.Good for her, I hope she does well where ever she lands.
LOL Yeah, the brilliant journalists like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity who were "too good" for university.
If she is going to work in TV news, she probably doesn't have much choice but FOX. She's probably blacklisted from the other networks.
Who said they're journalists? They have talk shows where they give their opinion on current events. And Glenn Beck hasn't been on Fox in a while. Did you know that? The real journalists work on the actually news segments. You probably can't tell the difference.
You're probably right... nearly everybody does well on Fox. Meanwhile, the hyperlib "news" media networks suck the scum of the bottom of popularity for their audience of socialists, perverts, enemies of everything productive and beneficial in this country, and other losers.... Why would anyone waste advertising dollars on these propaganda organs...?
Fox is not a news organization, and employs very few journalists. Journalism is not valued there, any more than facts are. All you have to do is exactly what Roger tells you to do.
It has as many journalists as any other network. The editorial commentators who are not graduates of journalism schools get most of the attention. But they not the only people at Fox.
By that logic? By the logic which understands that Lerner was choosing the protection of the 5th Amendment over actually answering our elected Representatives questions? By the understanding that only one type of person - a guilty one - does that? And you think such logic could apply to EVERY Government employee? Sure, sure, liberal.
