    MAGAnomics!

Not only is it a new Black Friday record, Black Friday spending is up over 22% from previous year.

    Thanks Trump!

Thanks for Making America Great Again!

Good lord, do you honestly believe that Trump is responsible for every last burp?

Yes, spending is up.... at the moment. True numbers will see where it is when Christmas lays, and post Christmas returns tally up.

Would you like me to start quoting a poster who blames Trump every time some kind of crime, even a local one, is committed?

    https://www.nbcnews.com/business/co...vels-credit-card-debt-still-planning-n1086826

Report: Credit card debt increases by 24,500 percent since 1970
    https://www.galioninquirer.com/news...rd-debt-increases-by-24500-percent-since-1970

Americans now have a record $14 trillion in debt

I didn’t know MAGA meant to make America in record levels of debt...

Nobody 'made them' spend themselves into debt. People make choices, and they are responsible for the outcome.

No need, there are plenty of them too. I just find it bizarre how people can believe that one person is responsible for anything and everything that happens.

I don't participate in the great American dream of spending to help support a CEO's salary of 200% over the average workers...Sorry. I keep dat money.

Many people don't spend money needlessly, while still gifting those they care to. Still not seeing the point of your post.

Of course, and I respond the same way to them. This focus from either side is bordering on the unhealthy.

After the credit card debt hitting rock bottom after the 2008 crash, the credit card debt started to rise again in 2014.

Are you saying that Obama is partially responsible?

i'm a guy who, up until a few years ago, had credit cards with limits that would have allowed him to go out and buy a new ferrari. then i dumped them all. i kept one card that had the lowest limit and dropped the others and i couldn't be happier. my credit report took a hell of a hit, but i really couldn't care less. i simply buy what i want with nice untraceable cash and only use my remaining credit card for on-line purchases.

that being said, i can see the willingness of people to use credit in a positive light. it means that, regardless of their present circumstances, the average american sees a rosy future ahead. it means that both consumer and business confidence is high and a confident people tend to be a productive people. the real problems will come when the democrats/progressives regain control, as will inevitably happen, and the bottom drops out of the private sector. when this happens wealth will once again flee the country and a lot of that debt will come back to haunt us. this has been happening, on and off, for decades and i see no end to the cycle.

I have zero debt. I buy vehicles, goodies, and within a few years (and out of state) a home straight cash.

I used to not care about my credit score, (I don't want to borrow money ever again) I still don't right now but many companies that are looking to hire, and if I have to move, property managers want to see my credit report.

Yes, like right before the housing market and securities crash during the last republican administration. If Americans have shown they are terrible at any one thing — it is predicting the future and good at spending invisible money. We seem to be incapable of preparing for the future.

Its true. Car dealers hate me.

Funny story, I just purchased a new piece of optical equipment that cost several thousand dollars.

I could have just picked one up retail, but instead I purchased industry certificates over the last few months.

These are certificates that manufacturers give to industry insiders, press, or to experts to encourage them to purchase such items.

Those insiders sell these certs, if you know where to find them. So I purchased several 1000/off certs for around 200 bucks.

Using these I was able to get the item for about a third of retail.

You should probably wait to celebrate until the brick-and-mortor sales figures come in ... It doesn't help anything if there is just a shift in the way people buy things and not an actual increase.

But we know this thread is just started in hopes of a Trump hand job, so carry on.
