I have never had to do that since I have moved twice since 1986 but I am sure it is a drag.

Why does it always seem like the people bragging to internet strangers are often broke and divorced, living in their parents basement? I’ve seen this several times, twice on this very forum.

Would be an interesting psychological study.

True. Equifax or some other credit company was hacked recently, and they offer free credit monitoring for life if your data was breeched.

    https://www.investopedia.com/news/was-i-hacked-find-out-if-equifax-breach-affects-you/

My bank also does "soft pull" credit reporting so I can check it anytime and without it impacting my credit.

My local best buy is usually lined around the block — the whole set of outlet stores are best avoided during Black Friday due to the traffic, while traffic was definitely worse than a regular weekend it was way below what I have ever seen.

I don’t think the numbers will be good but I have hope they are not too bad.

Some of us work in highly in demand professions and are paid accordingly.

I would be the first to admit I was lucky to be accepted into a program via grant/scholarship that cost most of my peers over 100K in student debt.

What are you talking about you can look at your credit rating anytime without it impacting your score.I have two credit monitoring companies yet I am part of the class action lawsuit seeking a cash payment for their poor performance on security along with Yahoo. Don't miss out on a three hundred dollar settlement on a class action suit over AMD microprocessor false advertising from 2015.

My local best buy was pretty dead too but it was a rare cold and rainy thanksgiving in southern California.

Plus, BB is slowly dying and most of its sales are online.

Black friday "sales" are usually minimal-its designed to get people into stores.

Some of us are also astronauts, what is your point?

I passed college English in high school, allowing me to take more advanced courses in college far sooner.

Same with econ, US history, world history, and calculus.

They suck is why they are dying I discovered that back before 2010. Their so called electronics people knew very little about computers and they threatened to throw me out when I was able to show them to that effect.

    Thats not entirely true.

I didn't take the payment, what was it 100 bucks or something? I took the lifetime credit monitoring. But then it turned out my bank started offering free soft pulls.

The other benefit was it boosted your GPA by 1 point per grade. So a "B" in advanced placement got you 4 points towards your GPA. Plus the saved tuition, and avoiding any delays in enrollment in those courses.

    I graduated HS in 99.

I know what mine is all the time since the damn monitors also coach you on it so every damn quarter it's the same thing...I have one with the tax guys, one with my credit cards.. I really didn't need them but they were complementary.

I was lucky enough to stumble into a trade (I am sure my military background helped)so that all my employers paid for my school and gave me a raise when I came back with a certificate.

My first MOS was anti-armor missile system maint. and repair my second was power production equipment maint. and repair. When I got out and went job hunting everyone was using the old analog and I had been trained on solid state in industrial maint. But I finally found a home doing frequency controlled motor controls.....

That really is the way to do it-you built on your prior military experience and your employers paid for your schooling.

I see these kids today that come out of 4 years of college in debt with few marketable skills.
