Should a who is raped woman report this

Should a woman who was raped but has no evidence other than her own testimony report that to the authorities even if it happened years ago?

 

The most important thing is for her to get therapy for the event. If she wants to report it that would be up to her. If she knows the assailant I would say she should report it. There may be other victims of this person.

If it happened years ago probably not. Memories fade with time and accurately identifying the attacker year later is increasingly fraught with difficulty. Now The minte you are raped even if there are no witness you get yourself to the nearest possible hospital so that appropriate DNA evidence can be collected which is not nearly as subject to misidentification as eyewitnesses.

You should report it immediately. Thirty years later you may get the wrong guy and it's possible that the real perp may not even still be alive.

 

And no one should smoke or be obese. Humans do the best they can …..especially after they were raped

 

But possibly tarring an feathering an innocent man isn't worth the possibility that they might find the guy thirty years later. There is one exception I will make. If you attacker impregnated you and you didn't abort the baby then you have some DNA by which to aid in the attackers identification.

 

This isn't an Islamic country where one needs seven witnesses for a rape report. Of course report it, you won't get stoned to death

No I'm not saying she should be forbidden from reporting it. That in the end is her choice what I am saying is that there are a hell of a lot of people in jail for crimes they didn't commit because the eye witnesses thought they had the right guy.

Ford, it is up to you to prove guilt which at this late date with no DNA evidence or eyewitness testimony is in essence impossible barring a confession which you aren't going to get. Suffice it to say FBI background check number 7 will turn up the same evidence as did 1-6 and we will be right back here next week the Dems will vote no and the REps yes. And Kavanaugh will take his much deserved and painfully earned seat on the supreme court.

 

Mrs Ford was virtually stoned to death for reporting a sexual abuse occurrence in the forum by a number of right wing people ... I believe you were among them.

 

This is not a court of law so no proof is required. She was asked to testify and she did.

This is a job interview and is perfectly acceptable for her to present her witness testimony

 

Didn't say it wasn't but I'm not required to believe people who make wholly unsupported accusations or accept their testimony. AS you say this isn't a court of law.

-just report it to the police to be investigated, not to politicians to be leaked, manipulated, exploited for political purposes, smear and slander of political opponents
-and don't employ politically active lawyers paid by political organizations and pursuing political agenda (why would a victim need lawyers)
-and don't lie about your non-existent fear of flying with the goal of delaying a political process
-and don't lie about being unaware of multiple committee's offers to meet with you privately in your home
-and don't lie about not willing to go public while talking to politicians and newspapers, hiring lawyers and taking a [bogus] polygraph test
-and don't lie that with 2 masters degrees you can't google the Judiciary committee's web page and their phone number
-and get your facts (location, year, names of the witnesses) straight
-and make sure people you mention including your best friend don't unequivocally refute your claims

-and don't expect to be blindly believed under the best of circumstances... do expect to be called on your lies, inconsistencies, political motives and total lack of even a shred of evidence though.

 

So you want it to be FORBIDDEN to report this to anyone but the police.....is that correct?
