1. Can you get beyond name calling & explain how Democrats are somehow now regarded as "traitors & liars"? BTW, I'm NOT blindly obedient to Democrats or the party. I have areas of disagreement & I openly state those disagreements when they surface. But for me personally, having to choose between the two significant parties in America, I find myself far more in agreement with Democrats than Republicans. 2. The Electoral College has always been an issue for a small minority of Americans concerned with democratic principles. For most Americans, it's still not an issue, but when one considers it is responsible for giving the Presidency to the candidate coming in second in the popular vote, both in 2000 & 2016--the last two Republicans to win--it DOES begin to concern those who believe in the concept of democracy in America. Yes, the EC is doing what the framers wanted--keeping power & authority in the hands of the upper classes, many Americans feel that framer's ideal has been weakened thru time due to the spread of education across class boundaries, & that democracy is "safer" in the hands of modern, educated citizens. Certainly, the trend has been toward more democracy thru American history. I suspect most Americans favor that trend.
