LOL, when you have nothing, resort to becoming a spelling Nazi. Secession wasn't illegal until the 1869 Supreme Court decision Texas v White determined secession was illegal. Secession isn't mentioned in the Constitution.

Can't quote what doesn't exist. In law, if it is not spelled out, it doesn't exist so show your claim in the constitution where secession is not legal at the time. You can't. That was a court decision in 1869 after the war.

 

The FALN (Armed Forces for National Liberation) *was* waging war against the US. Their army was admittedly small but that is not a determining factor. And Bill Ayers *was* giving aid and comfort to the North Vietnam by committing violence against the US participation in South Vietnam.

The only ones that don't support it are those in the federal House and Senate! They would lose their high and mighty positions!

I just spent a week in Oregon and Washington. A lot of people I talked to in the shops and on the beaches would gladly secede along with California!

Yeah. I'm actually not too worried about Puerto Rico invading us and taking over Washington. And the actions of Bill Ayers were handled by the civil authorities. The Civil War did produce a lot of death and suffering. So, if you had a point, it was probably pretty flimsy.. But if you're running a petition to remove some monument of Bill Ayers or the "powerful" army of Puerto Rican secessionists, I'll be happy to sign it.

Are you arguing for the sake of arguing? What exactly is your point? The Lincoln adminstration clearly did not think secession was legal, and did not recognize the Confederacy. Maybe Robert E. Lee should have made a legal argument to Grant while his army was dissolving at Petersburg. That would have shown him!
