I did look this up on wikipedia... Taxation in England is 37.7% of GDP, in the United States, it is 24.8% of GDP. Somebody in England is paying some pretty high taxes for that health care. Perhaps you don't, somebody is. You may be a winner in the system, but someone else is losing.

So somebody pays a whole lot for health care, and somebody else hardly pays anything. Obviously, I understand that those on the winning side of government redistribution would be totally for it, and think it is absolutely wonderful.

I am not asking you what does happen. I am asking you what SHOULD happen.

And even in todays world, many people die for no other reason than they are poor and cant afford some form of life saving treatment. Dont kid yourself in thinking otherwise.

What 'should' happen...? Well, what 'should' happen IS what 'does happen'. Like I said fairly clearly -- they get to go to any hospital in the United States and demand to be treated. They are treated. End of story.

This is what 'should' happen, and, it is what DOES happen... every damned day. What else are you fishing for...? :fishing:

Hey, Turin, I have NO idea what protocols hospitals are obliged to observe governing the dispensation of 'chemo'. Why don't you get in contact with one of them and find out. Are you at least aware that anybody can go barging into any hospital in the United States and demand treatment...? :omg:

I CAN tell you for a fact that in the past five years I have been very aware of a situation where one man who needed dentures paid $10,000 out of his own pocket for all the preparatory extractions, root canals, restorations, and the dentures themselves.

Another guy, who was totally on MEDICAID, had very nearly identical dentures made, with all the other work, too, and he PAID NOTHING! The GOVERNMENT PAID FOR ALL OF IT.

Care to comment on the 'fairness' of all this...?

I can tell you that a homeless person with cancer, will not receive chemo and will die of cancer due to lack of treatment.

I guess the only fair thing in your mind would have been to force the guy on Medicaid to go without, and live a life of either, severe dental pain, or just go toothless?
