It's not a Northern thing.More Southern or Deep South.
I never had Gumbo as a kid growing up.Many, many fine dishes by
my Mom,a good cook who also taught part time as a Home Economics
teacher.I also never had Hungarian Goulash.
Even though a very good friend of mine had 100% Hungarian
ancestry. Most all his relatives died young as they were very nutty.
    Either dopers or heavy alchy's.

You're not visiting Chicago are you Sugah.

As that half inch of snow/ice turned out to be 3-5 inches. Today Central Illinois is going to be seeing Temps in the negatives.

We are suppose to only see some light dusting. Bout an inch, inch and half.

Col. Sanders does breading best with his original recipe for fried chicken.

I grew up on that greasy crap. So I love it.

I don't like anything else breaded.

    I LOVE potato/leek soup.

Tastes especially good with a slice of melted cheese over it too.

Just put the slice on it and let it melt.

Experiment with new dishes prepared in good ethnic restaurants. Then find a recipe. The Afghans use okra well.

In the case of My Lai you had complicity on the part of the local population and also hate and revenge on the part of the U.S. Army Soldiers though.

Supposedly the Captain of the company gave the massacre order and the lieutenants carried it out.

Reminiscent of the U.S. Cavalry massacres of Native American Indians on the plains in the 1800's.

They were unable to convict the captain. Calley should have been executed.

Calley should have asked for Medina's supposed order in writing. Nobody believed that Medina would have given such an order and rather believed that Calley was lying about having received it. Calley may have misunderstood Medina. Medina was probably referring to wiping out the males not the women and children.

Good Ole' Colin Powel was a major at the time and he tried to cover up the war crimes with his investigation. That's why he never ran for POTUS -- it would have been disclosed.

Using Ignore on a message board is like dining out at a fine
restaurant and ignoring both your waiter and the maitre'd.
Then making a big deal and calling the maitre'd over to argue about
the mandatory 15% added Tip { Gratuity } when you see your bill.
Rube are a dime a dozen on Message Boards, they are.

Using ignore and attempting to throw some blame on another Publicly not knowing whats up between people.....puts that into the perspective it is.

Although, I now nipped that Bullshit in its budding form.
