You're kidding, right? Cadbury Eggs were invented here.
There's also other chocolate shaped eggs on the market here, like Kinder Surprise from Germany, little chocolate eggs with little toys in them that are banned in America; these, though egg shaped chocolate on the market, aren't nearly as popular as the domestic Cadbury's Cream Egg.
Those are the chocolate shaped eggs that're sold year round.
Also, Rolo and their chocolate once got into the year round little chocolate egg business, but they went.
Easter offers cheap chocolate eggs, which are plain chocolate eggs wrapped up in colourful foil which are used for egg hunts here. You could also ket a brand name Easter Egg hunt Easter eggs.

I've never heard of anybody looking for a hard boiled egg for Easter, I mean, I just wonder 'why would a kid want a hard boiled egg for?', I've also never seen or heard of dying an egg before.
Come Easter, I take this for granted, but, all the chocolates bars on the market produce special chocolate Easter eggs that are bigger and wouldn't be in a hunt, but more in a gift basket/Easter treat.
Also, adult Easter Eggs are just fancy chocolate Easter eggs.
America has big Easter eggs, right?

All British subjects are allowed to convert their hard boiled Easter eggs into deviled eggs.

Clarification on hard boiled eggs ... doubt if many people still use boiled eggs for Easter Egg Hunts anymore, but before candy eggs, real eggs were used. What did you use there before candy eggs came into being... rocks? Lol

Kinder eggs are no longer banned in the US. They decided if we wanted to choke our toddlers to death we should be free to do so. ;)

Most children like boiled eggs for Easter especially when they are painted and dyed. No boiled eggs went to waste. You can make deviled eggs, egg salad and eat them plain.
I remember a fruit and nut egg for the baskets that has long disappeared. It had cherries, nuts, and raisins it was wonderful. Guess it wasn't so wonderful to keep around but it was really good.
The White House gives out wooden eggs, for a keepsake, to each child showing up for the egg roll.

A semi-trailer full of them weighs next to nothing. It's great fun to blow past other trucks going uphill.

Lol, yeah, I found out over Easter visiting my parents, and this topic came up; According to my mother, people in her day (1940's/1950's) used to dye eggs for Easter.
My day (1980's/1990's)... I never seen it.
But apparently, it's not just an 'American thing' like I thought.

You are never too old to learn stuff.
Makes you wonder if California is going to ban plastic easter eggs.

Finding out there really wasn't an Easter Bunny was like finding out there wasn't a Santa.

    Yeah I can.
I once saw a leprechaun beat someone up on St Patricks Day over them singing Danny Boy. Some folks, especially leprechauns get very serious about that song after a few drinks and a couple more.
I cant imagine getting beat up by the Easter Bunny or a leprechaun.
