There will be some things that 'cyborgs' can do, and some they can't. I would be thrilled if a cyborg could do my job, it would mean retirement is closer on the horizon.

Oh, that is gorgeous. Except for having to mow near the planting beds, which means constant weeding, and that I am not a fan of.

The old garden beds were raised, built with a combination of treated and untreated lumber, before we knew better. They lasted a good 10 years, but had been falling apart for the last couple and were infested with noxious weeds from the last load of compost. If the place we got it was still in business, I'd be putting him out of business with social media.

The new beds are corrugated metal and untreated lumber, I'll have to take pictures this weekend. The 8'x8' greenhouse isn't up yet, trying to fit the garden reno in between house flips, lol.

    The automobile industry has used Cyborgs { Robot-like machines }
on their assembly lines for years.Could explain the record level
of Recalls. In fact,it is now a given.I doubt anyone can buy a new
car nowadays w/o somehow getting a Recall notice in the mail
    sometime.

We have lunch and a movie every Sunday afternoon for my almost 93-year-old aunt and her disabled next door neighbor so they both have something to look forward to every week. Sunday last we watched the original Star Wars movie. And while it lacked the total wonder that it did when we first saw it 42 years ago, it still has some intrigue. But two of the stars were the droids C3PO and R2D2, robots that did much of the manual labor for those who owned them. And I thought how great that would be to have something like that.

But to have them replace my job? Not so much I think.

I have Never Rented or seen - Star Wars -. I would therefore never
subject those 25 years my senior as to THAT kinda movie.
About The only thing worse than a Hyped Sci-fi Movie is
an Action adventure or Burt Reynolds staple ala the 80's.
However I am quite partial to 50's Sci-fi classics.
And attempted to Buy at Barnes & Noble one season of the
Classic Sci-fi TV series - The Outer Limits -.
Only one season was offered. It was Stephen Kings Favorite TV
series. The Buy went thru but apparently it was stalled due to availability.
Never happened to me before.I order on average a movie or TV series
a week at B & N. Plus Buy their Criterion Collection whenever it's
    50 % off.Like in early august.
Seems when the - The Outer Limits - order was placed the
System confirmed it was available. But If there were other buys that
hour it probably went to the other buyer.
I don't think I ever saw a Jackie Chan movie.
    I'm a Movie snob,I is.Plus a wine snob.

Star Wars is special though. The original was a movie that changed the way that movies are structured and created forever. It isn't just science fiction. It has a strong story line and strong, believable characters and provides humor and excitement/suspense/drama with some philosophy and thought provoking concepts thrown in. It is brilliant in that it doesn't portray a shiny, unblemished setting, but one that is worn and rusty and beat up a bit. It does have a few more 'gun fight' scenes than I like, but it is one of those movies you might see only once perhaps, but it is almost mandatory for true movie connoisseurs to see. :)

So yer not privy to a Home Depot or Lowe's or
Garden supply store.Granted with some on-line sites you
don't have sales tax and often free shipping.Which means a
substantial savings. But you then have to worry about getting yer
order in one piece and what you ordered.
It seems kinda strange this yard preoccupation of yourn.
Could it be some new love in yer life and constant harping
about jazzing things up.Just get new curtains and be done with it.
Use the rest of yer allowance on a nice motorcycle.

In the late 1990's or maybe early 2000's we had a family member have an outpatient surgery for a smaller than a pea sized growth in a finger. We leave the office to fill a prescription. I looked at the prescription. 25 Oxycontin.
I was insane with it and it went something like this.
We are not filling that prescription right now. If you really need it Ill go fill it. Elevate your hand, put ice on it, take Tylenol and lets see how that works first. Lets be conservative here with this to start. The prescription was never filled because it was not necessary. The ice, elevating and Tylenol worked out well.

All I kept thinking was when I was in a motorcycle accident how my orthopedic doctor filled only one prescription when I was finally sent home from the hospital. He wanted me off the opiods as quick as possible. He explained to me how addictive they were. It was tylenol from that point on.

I had a cousin who is dead now from a heroin overdose. To this day I have a hard time when I remember throwing him out of my moms house when I found him slumped over, drooling on himself with a needle near by. "Get out of this house and dont come back unless you are clean." I loved my cousin so much but there was no way in hell anyone was shooting up drugs in my moms house. We tried to help him but he didnt have enough in him to accept the help or even help himself.

My cousins song then and all the way to the grave.

Sorry about your cousin. This past December, I lost a nephew to the same. Well, actually to a morphine OD. He couldn't get H as fast as he wanted, so he did the morphine. And slipped into the darkness.

Addiction can, and will, take down many people. I consider myself fortunate that I don't seem to have that issue, walked away from a number of substances that have undermined other people's lives. But I don't like tempting the demons, so I stay away from most anything that can undermine my control.

OK, enough morbidity. Today is my Friday, and though the world has continued to spin, I am actually taking 5, count 'em 5 days off work... at least in the office. Working on the flip house, trying to finish the garden reno as far as I can. Also time for seed planting above ground cold weather crops.

I'll be consuming Tylenol in large quantities, and have a standing appointment with the chiropractor.

5 whole days off from the office. Cool.

How is the renovation coming along?

I pulled up some basil and swiss chard that the damn stink bugs destroyed this year. Im going to try to plant some romaine lettuce and see how that does now. Next year I have to rethink where I plant what and hopefully some row cover fabric will help. We never had a problem with stink bugs until about 2 years ago when I noticed in the fall a few were on the screens trying to get in the house. Some did and I dumped them in soapy water.

Im pretty fortunate myself. Ive never been addicted to drugs. The only thing Ive ever tried and liked too much was cocaine. I liked it way too much. Something in me said never ever do this again and I never did.

I go back to simplicity.Which can be the best recipe or cure.
Like with Dennis Prager's - Happiness Hour -. That maintaining
happiness is extremely important.A true - Guiding light - for a better
and sane life on earth. But to maintain happiness is also hard work.
Life is also full of contradictions and false cures.Like being rich
will solve most issues.Better health will but not being rich.
Having things { nice things } can actually be a curse.Because one
will become frustrated if losing them or having them taken away.
Like a toddler having his favorite toy removed in order to take their nap.
Luckily I kinda knew and sensed while still in grade school the
need to focus on Happiness.Over and above Things and even
friends.Things and Friends come and go like the years. But to have
a Religion of Happiness is beyond reproach. It can be near irreplaceable.
Life cannot be lived if Happiness is viewed as if a bridge too far.

" Happy the Man, and happy he alone,
    He who can call today his own;
    He who, secure within,can say,
    Tomorrow,do thy worst,for I have liv'd
    Today. " -- John Dryden { English poet,critic }
