    i have seen the clouds stack up at the Chinatis.. but it take a very strong breeze to actually crest said mountains. Most of our rain comes from the south, initially, and once blown into the valley, moves up down the valley for months.

    Tiggers.. you mentioned a vacation elsewhere recently.. this is rustic, maybe too rustic, and most certainly do not book between April to Sept.. too hot for your acclimation. But to escape the cold,

    it is nice during the winter months, and when we do have winter, it might last a day of two, and snow last no longer than the first afternoon after falling.

    I just went kayaking and a flooded Forest River Bank at the myakka River State Park. the lady at the gate that let you into the park or the ranger station and takes your money too of course told me that there was no kayaking allowed as it was too dangerous so as I walked along the park disappointed I found some other rangers and I asked them if this was the case they said I don't know and called management turns out you actually could if you could carry your kayak to water from the point where the road is blocked due to flooding so what's the moral of the story don't always accept what someone tells you just because they were a uniform question things some of y'all may have remembered that I had posted pictures of this park before it's nothing to see Banks sections of riverbank with 30 to 100 Gators some longer than my 10-ft kayak but I was not eating only saw one gator in the flooded Forest a small guy sitting on a log of course the rest are around here somewhere there's a lake in this park where you can see literally hundreds on any given day fairly small area I feel like this should have been a bucket list thing can I add it retroactively anyhow enough talking time for some pictures ... Excuse my lack of punctuation and spelling I'm talk texting into my phone and don't really feel like going back and correcting it all IMG_20210712_112128.jpg IMG_20210712_111233.jpg IMG_20210712_103805.jpg IMG_20210712_103223.jpg

    It's a very large Park the flooding is due to Elsa of course as I'm on my phone right now and I'm not very handy where the phone as I am on my laptop I'll look it up later today when I get home but if anyone cares too just go to YouTube and search for myakka River State Park skunk ape, AKA Bigfoot there are a couple very convincing videos from this area 32 miles or so from here to my house there's not a whole lot between here and there but pasture and woods and groves oh sweet baby Jesus van get me home

    Some more pictures the first one do you see the hawk in the tree I was about 15 ft away from him when I took his picture he did not seem to mind.... Evidently you can rent these cabins though probably not when flooded. Feeling kind of cute I don't know might take a death wish paddle through a flooded Forest today LOL . I swear there are far more Gators here than in the Everglades born and raised in Florida I've never seen so many Gators in one spot in my entire life but they didn't eat me so y'all still have to put up with me for a while lol IMG_20210712_104449.jpg IMG_20210712_104006.jpg IMG_20210712_103545.jpg IMG_20210712_103135.jpg

    Got off work at 6:00 a.m. and took someone to the airport 50 miles away so I figured I might as well stop by this park and make a use of it cuz this is my weekend. as of 6:00 a.m. this morning. I got to go home and get sleep at 3:30 p.m. I'll have been up 24 hours

    I find it hilarious that you have a cell phone signal in that wilderness! We lose ours around the corner of the first mountain.

    WHY ... ? It'd be like paying a visit to see old Uncle Rufus
    who a few years ago contracted a bout of Leprosy.And he mailed you
    to ask when you are going to see him.He's dying to see you.

    Did you actually have a point to make or simply making noise?

    It can be spotty. Home safely. A few heavy thunderstorms, severe but brief. Had the window cracked when lightning bout near made me jump out my skin, driving. It was so close I thought I was hit.

    The good part of rural living, so much beauty, a relatively short drive. Once I get some sleep, I'm headed to the gulf when I wake up (Dead of night or not, I care not) to do some salwater fishing. 50 miles puts me in Placida, right on the Gulf coast.

    I was hoping to find a cute little, dusky pygmy rattle snake but alas, no such luck. Pretty little things, the flooding ought have them on the move to higher ground.[IMG] [IMG]

    Probably in the same place all 10 of my extensions cords have wandered off to over the years. Also same place all mismatched socks go to die.

    It must be pretty crowded in that place, lol.

    We got s
    We got a little wind and rain from Elsa, she moved on and I think she forgot to take the rain with her. We are having thunderstorms and rain everyday. Not complaining about the rain too much, don't want a drought.

    This is a picture I took of a hawk last week. I will keep trying till I get a good picture of him. He flies around here just about everyday.

    May I suggest some really Good 50's swamp flicks.
    I'm a fan of swamp flicks as mush the other guy.
    How about the one I tried to buy :
    - Swamp Water - { 1941 } starring the invenerable charactar
    actor Walter Brennen.
    Who also did - Good-bye,My Lady - { 1952 } about a little nephew
    who lived with his Grandpa in the Swamps.
    Then there's a stuff like - Swamp Women - { 1956 }
    and - The Alligator People - { 1959 }
    or - Creature from the Black Lagoon - { 1954 }
    or maybe - Papillon - { 1966 }
    The World can be your oyster w/o needed trips to real
    swamps.Then again some guys have to find out for themself.
    The Thrill of Swamps and the Agony of Being there.

    Just woke up, I laid down at 4 pm. No alarm, no phone in my room. Best way to sleep, wake up when you are ready.

    As promised, reported 'skunk ape' sighting.....real? Who knows? First video 2:30 time mark

    This one is definitely no bear, either a man in a costume or the real McCoy? (This one may have been filmed in the Everglades ?)
