LOL, this one reminds me of me. If I had a camera on my tail, this could be me.

I hate packing and do this same thing every time... can't imagine that I'll feel comfortable wearing so few clothes... so I take too much. After the first day in the sun when I've got a little color and into the island mood... I'm more than happy to run around half nekkid like everybody else. Those jeans I think I might need will never leave the suitcase. ;)

Trailer looks good, Max. Are you gonna add some pinstriping?

Pack the basics and don't fret. Just have fun. Where are you going? I missed that.

No pin-striping. Just a basic git'r'done paint job and be ready to put'er up for sale once I 1) sell the current one and 2) make a third one.

The one below is up for sale, the one I'm making will be used by the wife until I finish the third one, then it too will be sold.

If you drive, its ok to pack some extras. If you fly, bring a toothbrush and a credit card and look for a new wardrobe.

Nice trailer!! It looks like it could hall quite a bit of weight. I like the wood plank floor, reminds me of a horse trailer. Nice long tongue too, easier to back up. Sturdy looking undercarriage too, limits 'fishtailing'.....Nice job.

It's Galveston, Max. My fav Texas city... next to Dallas, of course. ;)

This is what a Yellow Lab looks like. Her name is Midge.
Notice the little paws and the tiny beak.

Don't know why you're flying. It's less expensive and faster to drive to OKC.

30 minutes to get to the other side of Houston is worth fifty seven bucks. And OKC is even further from the ocean... hell, compared to that, Dallas is pert near on the beach!

Heading to bed here, folks. Y'all don't burn the place down while I'm gone. I'll be checking in. ;)

is Nuevo Laredo and that's after a two day stay in Chihuahua.

I've got to write this down whilst I'm still buzzin'... smw is soooooo dum...

Thanks. The long tongue is because it was originally a 19' steel boat trailer. Old boat trailers are nice because the long tongue allows use as a kayak/utility trailer. You're quite right about the ease of backing up. The current one I'm building is so short, it will be a beotch to back up without a flag or two on the rails.

Finally finished my latest project just in time before leaving for work tomorrow morning. I have another one lined up but won't do anything with it for a few weeks.

That looks like Forney, TX. Of course, a lot of Texas looks like Forney, TX.

Trailer looks nice. I wish I knew how to weld.

It's not hard, especially MIG welding. A few years back, I took a year's worth of night classes twice a week (10 classes) at Weatherford Community College for $200/class, but MIG welding can be learned in a class or two. Associated skills can be learned online such as Youtube. I have a Millermatic 211 MIG welder, but Lincoln 140s and 180s are also great MIG welders. Same goes for Hobart. Lots of used ones on Craigslist.

My instructor was a manufacturing plant manager having worked his way up as a welder. He and his sons did over $70K work in two years completing projects for hire using a pair of Lincoln 140s. It runs on 110 so can be plugged in anywhere. It welds up to 3/16ths angle and flat iron, which covers most projects like wall racks/shelves, trailers and the like.

Worked all day. Now catching last flight to San Luis Potosi, MX.

To celebrate, I had a really tasty Cilantro Chicken Salad at an airport Mexican restaurant. Bueno!

I went to see my oldest at Sheppard AFB this weekend. He is in tech school for his job repairing Aerospace Ground Equipment. I signed his truck over to him and bought him his first (legal) beer. He turned 21 during basic training and Friday night was his first night he was able to buy a beer. I was there, so I got to buy it for him. He is doing well and will be a popular guy, now that he has his TV, computer, PS3, and car. I warned him about his newfound friends. He is a little more nerdy and socially awkward than most airmen, but he is very smart will do very well. His classmates and superiors will see this and respect his ability and discipline. He has an older, more mature and level headed roommate. I think he is in a good place.

After driving home, I mowed my yard and took my 12 year old to the store. We ran into some old friends and talked a while in Home Depot. Good weekend.

Edit: Oh yeah. Against my better judgment, I let my 12 year old buy a switchblade knife. They are now legal in TX. I think he learned his lesson with his ER visit and 4 stitches from playing with his knife 2 years ago. It's a 2" OTF knife, so it's not like a huge intimidating knife.
