Honestly, play Xenogears on the Playstation 1. One of the best stories and emotional games I have ever played.

A bit of an oldie now, but Final Fantasy 10 really captured me and enveloped me in the story and the characters. I deliberately prolonged that game just to squeeze every last bit of content out of it before beating it, because I knew once I beat it, I probably wouldn't go back to it.

If you have a PS3 you can download it for 10 bucks. Otherwise expect to pay alot for a real copy as its rare.

But I don't get how the Xbox One is any more multimedia centered than Sony? The PS3 is by far the best Bluray player for its price at the moment, the PS4 will probably only do better. What does the Xbox One have in this department other than some weaksauce TV channels that probably won't work in my country anyway?

I bought Simcity. I don't want to deal with that for every major game launch :(

This is why I will NEVER be purchasing an Xbox, or even allowing one in my home.

I'm not sure if the exact differences. But when I decided to buy an XBOX 360 over the PS3 a big reason was at the time (2006) the XBOX was only a gaming machine if I recall whereas the PS3 seem to lean towards multimedia. This time around Microsoft has spent a lot of time showcasing their multimedia while Sony seems to have gaming front and center.

Yeah I got my 360 way back in 05/06 too. But back then Sony actually had a feature to offer - Bluray. The Xbox One seems to have nothing much extra I'd want in the multimedia dept. :/

Unfortunately, this was never a game, but only a tech demo in the form of a short film (about 7 minutes long). It's called "Kara" and you can find a link to it below. For anyone who enjoys games and sci-fi who has not seen this, I suggest taking a look. It's quite powerful.

(Best viewed full-screen. And don't forget to turn off the annoying annotations.)

Sucks, I was really looking forward to a game that can tell a story. Oh well, thank's anyways.

I am a member of the PC master race so I am just happy that they are FINALLY updating their hardware after SEVEN years. Now they can stop porting all these crappy games with (*)(*)(*)(*)ty textures, small levels, barely any NPCs, no physics to speak of etc.

There is no question in my mind that this time around Sony has pretty much won the match. They have better hardware (better RAM and a faster processor) they appear to have learned their lesson about game development and they had a lot more announcements for games than Microsoft did. They even impressed me by showing off some indie games which is a biggie for me because I love some of the indie games that I find on STEAM. Scariest game I have ever played is Amnesia made by a small publisher. People that think Dead Space is scary have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. :)

I probably will get a console this time around but it definitely won't be the X One. The always on kinect camera, the whole used game fiasco and while I have great internet where I live there is a valid point that if you go camping or on vacation some place without internet connection its really annoying to have to worry about you system not working because you didn't check in every 24 hours. I especially love Angry Joe's rant about how they are screwing over US miltary personnel over seas who might not have access to the internet or it might be unreliable. The irony is that they will be forced to by a foreign companies product instead of an American companies product.........and yes I am aware that they are both most likely made in China I am talking about the coporate HQ.

Microsoft is reversing most of their policies. Link

No Always Online or 24-hour check-in, just one time online setup necessary when you get the console.
Discs work like they did on 360 as far as lending, trading, or borrowing.
Region locking is dropped to a degree.

Still not getting one because Sony gives me more band for my buck.

WOW!!! Epic reversal... and sadly to little to late. I agree the PS4 is still the best bang for my buck... but none the less Microsoft has lost my confidence.

One thing I forgot to mention was that Microsoft is removing the one interesting aspect of the X1. That being the 'Family Circle' that would let you share a library of games with up to ten people, which would essentially mean that after I got done playing Assassin's Creed 5 and started playing Titanfall my cousins that live in Kansas could play my game sans disc instead of buying a brand new copy.

I thought it was a joke when I heard that.... what a stupid move by Microsoft. Between this and the $100 premium, I'd say they are going to lose this generation to Sony.

I loved that Nintendo kicked Microsoft's and Sony's ass this last generation, both in the console and handheld markets (I doubt Sony will ever top Nintendo in handhelds, even though they keep trying. The PSP and Vita both got trounced by the DS and Gameboy. I'm worried about Nintendo's future in console hardware, however. The Wii U has not been a big hit, and I think it may have the potential to be an even bigger bomb than the Gamecube (which was actually a good console, in its own right). The Wii is great because of its ability to play the games from old systems, even non-Nintendo systems. Plus you can add homebrew games and programs to the system easily, increasing its ability. It should have gone for a better online gaming system, but overall it was a very successful console that was profitable from day 1, even with a lower price. Sony and Microsoft lost a lot of money on their console sales, but made up for it in game sales. Nintendo was profitable all around. They have the money and franchise power to stay around for a long time, hopefully.

Here's yet another strike against Microsoft and the Xbox One...

Microsoft is ditching the Xbox Live Arcade and the indie games section of the marketplace. This effectively eliminates all indie games, which over the past few years, have been some of the most fun. All indie developers will now need to get a publisher, and thus pay them a large chunk of the income, in order to get their games onto the Xbox One.

    http://www.develop-online.net/news/44276/No-self-publishing-for-indies-on-Xbox-One

The PS4, of course, does not have this anti-indie policy and will still allow self-publishing. Several prominent indie devs have already publicly stated that their next-gen games will now only be coming out on the PS4.

I'm seriously wondering what the Microsoft execs have been smoking. It's like they're determined to make the Xbox One their last console.

With the way that they're going, I'm expecting a Dreamcast-like performance from the One. Slightly successful for the first year or so, but will crash and burn as non-nintendo console gamers flock to the PS4.
