    God is nature? I could agree with that.
    Or are you saying God is the sun?

    The world is proof of God's existence if you see it from that POV.

    I can buy that. I don't buy the maniacal, mean, seeminglly unloving one from the OT. That is just one tribes version of their God described in the times they lived.

    Darn! Hitler failed to bring a patriarchy to power! How great that would have been if Hitler had been successful!
    Is that your point?
    Did you think you hit your "Stormfront" favorites button?

    Leviticus 11:13 --And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

    14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

    15 Every raven after his kind;

    16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

    17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

    18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

    19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

    The hebrew word for bird can mean "any flying thing"

    Obviously. Do you think God could give a rats ass about any religion? There may or may not be some truth to any one religion or bible story. Doesn't matter in the least.

    Could it be that taxonomy wasn't well understood back in Biblical times?

    Who gives a rip whether they thought a bat was a bird? They most likely couldn't tell you the characteristics of a mammal either.

    Now, let's see... this thread was about what again? Bats? Taxonomy? homosexuality? Girly men? No, it seems to me it was about god and his/her/they making appearances.

    anyone have any examples?

    Why do you say that?

    The OT truthfully describes how the Hebrew patriarchs behaved, thought, and acted as does it likewise tell us about the sexually promiscuous gentile nations that surrounded those jews.

    Your complaint is like denying God because he created tigers that kill other animals and will tear a man apart.
    All the terrible things that men did to ther men as described in the OT seems to be factual historically.

    I would make a case for the argument that God is actually the ever unfolding Reality that is both almighty and an entrapment for the living it nurtures and threatens at the same time.

    Look at the list....bird after bird after bird after bird....until bats. The writer of Leviticus obviously thought bats were "birds" biologically. If it was "any flying thing"...then grasshoppers, butterflies, bees, etc. would have been listed too....they weren't.

    Now, the strange thing is, supposedly that writer was "inspired by God" to write what he wrote, so the question becomes ....was he not paying attention or does God think bats are "birds"???

    It said flying things, have you got anything else? As the old saying goes, " when riding a dead horse for heavens sake, please dismount". Now dismount and grab another horse.

    A butterfly is a "flying thing"...why weren't they listed? A bee is a "flying thing"...why weren't they listed? Flying fish, Exocoetidae, common to all oceans...are not listed.

    Why not?

    Haven't seen too many burning bushs lately, have we? Actually when we see a "Bush" it's usually a portent of disaster. :)

    I'm holding on to my ticket for at least the remainder of my days. I realize that a lot of people are murmuring and want their money back but I suspect the next act will be universal and not as in studios.

    Hitler DID replace the feminist soft and weak German socialism as is the case always when either invasion from neighboring patriaqrchies or a strong man,dictator like Hitler rises up tells the house of that nation what to do.

    When the fathers in the households have lost cintrol of the nation to the plitical correctness set forth by the women, the problems end with depression, economic stand still, a lack of production and irresponsible citizens.
    One strong man is necessary before the change comes from external forces.

    I posted earlier that the English Bible translation ,stating birds, is wrong in that the Hebrew word means anything that flies.

    Its unquestionable that if the beloved patriarch were compelled to catalog every thing with wings then surely the torah would be filled with nothing but winged creatures, would be called "The flying Torah". Now please............dismount, and grab another horse.Next scripture please.............
