So when was God's last big appearance?

If, if only god was all-powerful, and cared about us, then, then he'd of course just get rid of the devil(!).....but he's obviously not all-powerful, so I guess I'm just dreaming. Darn! But wait...if Jesus is NOT all-powerful then he can't hear my prayers, and then.....AH, NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PRAYERS DON'T GET ANSWERED TO A STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT LEVEL, because he's not real. I SHOULD have been suspicious when I read in the bible that a donkey was talking to somebody....but sometimes I'm just too dense too use my common sense.

Read the Bible! It was often the all-loving GOD doing terrible things to innocent people, not just people doing terrible things to other people.

Their insane "god" thought that the earth is now 6000 years old, so obviously he's nuts.

 

They didn't have war planes back in those days, so had to depend on god to smite the enemy.

(Actually, I'm a closet Christian, and I'm hoping for the Apocolypse to happen in the next 6 years so, I'm really really praying for yet another Bush to take us to war.)

 

But like the Bible says, god can't defeat iron chariots:
Judges 1:19
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

So if god can't defeat iron chariots, then he sure as shiite can't defeat stealth bombers!

 

That is a curious passage, isn't it?

Did people even have iron in those days? Wouldn't a "chariot of iron" be too heavy for the horses to pull?

I wonder just what the original word was that was translated as "iron chariots"?

It depends upon who you ask.

For me, God's latest big appearance was this morning, when I opened my eyes to the wondrously imperfect world He had prepared for us : a world that forces us to adapt , and-in so doing- to exercise our incredible brains.

In my belief system, God is as much a part of our lives as we choose Him to be.

For those who observe the Christian way, Happy Easter; and to our Jewish members, a Happy and blessed Passover.

For those who observe differently ( or not at all) , have a great Sunday tomorrow !
