Of course price fixing and anti competitive practices are taking place in the US. The show is run by Oligopolies.

Standing on a soap box crying "no no no" will not change this fact.

I am a constitution loving fiscal conservative (old style - prior to the religious right taking over the party).

What I really do not like is partisanship to the point of blindness ... this whole Reagan worship thing is due to people either forgetting or being ignorant of what actually happened under Reagan and making stuff up. Reagan is the one who started a long term out out of control deficit spending program - which was carried on by Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. which lead to our current debt.

I totally agree with you ... both Red and Blue are essentially the same party and differ only on a few social issues. In general both are trampling on individual rights and freedoms and the principles on which this nation was founded towards a quazi totalitarian police state.

Both also support the Oligopolies and trample on free and fair markets through regulations, tax law and not enforcing price fixing and anti competition legislation .. towards turning the average citizen into an indentured servant.

Socialism and capitalism are just tools for different purposes. Not every problem is a nail or a screw, thus one should not have to choose only a hammer or a screwdriver but rather use the one that suits the problem. Healthcare funding, military, and education? Clearly socialism, with check and balances. Luxury goods and services? Clearly capitalism, with just the right amount of regulation. Now beyond that, the details are the hard part. But many Americans still can't even get past the basic fact that not every problem requires a hammer.

All this talk about how the evil socialism is supposedly supporting bums and yet...

Since the budget for the American military is equal to the combined military budget of China, India, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, France, and Saudi Arabia with (I think) Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia even having much of a navy and the 1-2 carriers of the other 5 are often helicopter carriers, perhaps we spend too much? Further, since we effectively lost the Iraqi War, and are losing the Afghanistan War after 16 years plus and over three trillion dollars, and counting, with the entire Middle East in worse shape and more hostile to Americans than when we two countries, one of which wasn't involved in 9/11(Iraq), and didn't invade the country that was the prime supporters of 9/11, religious extremists, and terrorists (Saudi Arabia)maybe just maybe our money could be better spent?

A lot of Americans could have used the services that that money could have provided. I think of some potholes for one.

There is also the destruction of the rule of law. The elites either don't have to follow it, or the penalties are very light, but are more strictly enforced, and the penalties heavier, the poorer you are.

Distributed from the government. AS OPPOSED to redistributing from the wealthy and giving to the poor. You are still clueless.

There is no need to redistribute wealth in such a collective. the profits are DISTRIBUTED evenly so there is no need to redistribute wealth.

But not by the government, except with excessive regulations. That was my point.

Socialism is a failure. It can only work on paper or as long as there are people who
don't think or have a vision (dream) of being better than they are.

Confiscating the lawful gains of others to fill their own corrupt pockets isn't "compassion".

One lawyer stole more than half a billion dollars from Social Security

How many more of these guys are out there?

Stealing the future of our children through debt, is not "compassion".
You should be ashamed of yourself for attempting to conflate voluntary Christian Charity with corrupt government schemes of coercive takings that mainly benefits the government takers
    Obama Effect.
He should give all his possessions to the poor, then follow Jesus.

You are describing the Marxist principle of "from each according to ability and to each according to need". That *is* redistribution of wealth by definition. Whether government is used as the means of effecting the redistribution or whether it is done using another method matters not one whit. It is still redistribution of wealth.

Profits from whom? Distributed by whom? The money has to come from somewhere.
In the US it's from confiscatory taxation and then wasted on social programs.

The greatest gift anybody can ever give, is charity. One does not force another to do so, it loses all meaning. Charity comes from the heart, having the ability to help others, and the willingness to do so. Charity from the heart is rare today. Most of the rich only do it for gain in their reputation. The poor or less unfortunate is not even in their heart to be concerned about. It gives insight to the type of society we have become, and are becoming.

For charity to reach its highest goal it is necessary for a personal relationship to be built between the giver and the receiver. It then allows both participants to be elevated.

But you need not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Remember, when Jesus fed all the people with fish and bread it is unlikely he developed a personal relationship with everyone there. But he didn't let that get in his way of feeding everyone!

I would agree with that. It allows the receiver to understand what is in the heart of the giver. And it allows the giver to understand the appreciation of the receiver. A full cycle of righteousness.

Very true - In addition you see violations of "innocent until proven guilty" in asset forfeiture and "one person is not to be punished for the crime of another" there and in other places.

Then you have the complete conflict of interest in that police take the money they steal for themselves (the department)

I think more and more people are starting to see this. To many people have been quite on the matter, specifically in fear of being labeled a "conspiracy freak". Who cares what people think. When evil is seen, Jesus told us to call it out. It's time to take a stand!

Absolutely - it is a system of indentured slavery. The free market has been regulated and taxed to death.

One of the interesting things about the movement away from communism (where the state essentially owned everything) and Feudalism - where the Feudal lord owned everything was ownership of private property.

This has always been one of the cornerstones of a free society. How can one claim "I own this property" when one pays monthly rent on it - Property Tax ?

What on earth are you talking about ? The gov't takes wealth via taxation (from rich and poor alike) and redistributes it.

What part of this do you not understand ?

I do not see how. I'd call it a corrupt oligarchy with pretension of democracy, or some kind of republic. You could by some measures call it fascist. North Korea official name is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and it certainly is not democratic, or a republic. And Taiwan calls itself the Republic of China, which it isn't.
