Exactly. Fox per Murdoch and Ailes simply catered to a demographic that already existed but wasn’t being served. It crammed no programming down anyone’s throat that didn’t want to to watch it. The left is simply upset that they lost their monopoly on news and opinion and can no longer command us to view their preferred outlets. Now they use MBFC and other big tech social media gate keepers to limit the impact of alternative media, particularly on line.
