I've never known a suicide bomber to do it again and again ;)

Are you running away from your statement of "No European would have done such a thing, that's for sure." ? Perhaps you think that the Irish are not European.

I would feel the same BUT it would be me that has the illogical problem. Who are these people that will be lying to you? Any skilled seller could lie without needing any face covering. Many people are duped by lying salesmen. There are much better non-verbal massages sent out by someone lying than being able to see the face.

This is actually a very good point, and has caused me to change my mind. There is no right to cover your face in public. Your right to wear what you want ends at your door. For that matter, your right to privacy ends when you go out in public, to a certain degree. It’s within the parameters of good government to ban face coverings in public, of any kind.

Still, the best outcome is to defang Islam and let it fade into historical obscurity.

My answer was "no" it would not stop sucide bombers

but that it would prevent "non-suicide bombers" who would perform repeated acts of terrorism.

If you ever find yourself having to talk one-to-one and at length to someone whose face is totally hidden from you, you'll remember this conversation and understand what I mean.

What has confused me is that none of those you mention above would be wearing a full-face covering, which is essentially what we're talking about here, isn't it? It has nothing to do with whether or not you're being lied to by everyone who talks to you, only if you can discern that you're being deceived by someone who is.

Well done. So when you have had a conversation with someone wearing a face covering, in other words experienced it, come back and tell me whether or not it made you feel uncomfortable.

What part of yes I've done that more than once and no it didn't make me uncomfortable was unclear?

My god, the whole point is that people lie whether they are face covered or not and people still cannot tell if they are lying hence why so many people are conned out of their money by lying salesmen.

LOL. You stated that you haven't ever spoken to someone whose face was covered but immediately said that you would feel uncomfortable. It's you that has the problem. And you have once again run away from the questions, "Who are these face covered people lying to you and for what reason?"

But nobody in this discussion has said it? [IMG]

How little you have understood the salient points which I've been making. But how about yourself - have you ever had a prolonged discussion with someone wearing an ethic full-face covering? Yes or no will do, because I don't intend to get into debate with you for reasons which should be obvious.

I've already addressed that and you either accept it or you don't; there's no point in labouring it?

Excuse me, but I'll be the one who decides what circumstances would make me feel uncomfortable, not you.

I'm not 'running away' ( ), I simply didn't understand the loaded question; for example, how the **** would I know who 'these face covered people' are if I can't er, if I can't see their effing faces? They'd be anonymous, wouldn't they?

To be perfectly honest I get sick and tired of your word games and ambiguous semantics, so to reiterate . . . I'm not 'running away', I've simply become irritated by having to explain what I've already said but in different phraseology, then off we go around in circles again. I'm of the impression that you're someone who'll deploy linguistic gymnastics and unlikely scenarios in order to reject a point of view or humiliate your opponent for no other reason than you don't like to lose the argument: there's a word for someone who does that, but one which would see me banned until next September if I use it. So I won't.

What difference would it make if you can't see the face of someone you don't know?

Yep, you're running away from your illogical post saying that they could be lying.

LOL It's sad that you keep replying to my post when you have repeatedly said that you are not interested in carrying on.

That's because of my good nature - I can never snub anyone. I suggest you call it a day to save me the trouble of putting you on my ignore list?

I'm the same though - I can never snub anyone either. But I don't have anyone on an ignore list

Okay then, giving you the benefit of the doubt . . . does it ever occur to you that you might be in a minority? Maybe even a very small minority??

    Ban Hoodies
    On A Nice Day / Night !

Then covering one's ID with clothing isn't just a Muslim thing.

As far as I know,... those Muslims don't wear burqas / niqabs.
Seems those women got more personal liberty than you like to admit.
