They didn't prepare very well. They didn't do statistically significantly better than other states with respect to COVID death rates.

Almost all in a heavily red county full of anti- maskers, anti-vacciners.

Listen 'friend', lefties were yelling of a coming ice age in the late 1970's. It's called the ****ing weather. Then came global warming....and Al Gore said (along with every other lefty climate minister) the polar ice caps would melt....by 2014. So what became of the polar bears and ice caps?....more bears and more ice.

That's why lefties now call it 'climate change', it is no longer 'global warming'. I can't wait until they call it by its original term again....the ****ing weather.

We once had palm trees in Alaska and camels in Canada.....and the left is all up in arms over a 1 degree temperature change over the course of the next 100 years. Tell me, are palm trees going to grow in Alaska again with one ****ing degree's difference? Oh hell no.

Climate history is as old as the Earth, not the last 50 years. The true 'climate deniers' are the lefties that don't know history.

We're not going to read every source in the link, that's the job of the link. What if the link is misrepresenting information? The source's job is to provide answers to basic questions like, how do we know they're not splitting hairs themselves? Why should we think the top 5 means anything? That's why we're asking why didn't they bother to include the least restrictive cases so we can compare without having to guess where they're getting info from?

Of course you're not. You're here to bash the article because of your political bent. The first objection to this article demonstrated that he/she didn't even read the article carefully at all.

Then provide some information proving it wrong. Which the people who didn't read the article in the first place haven't done.

Easy. Read the sources they provide. Which you didn't.

Statistics quoted in the article show you why they mean something. Maybe you should read the article. They included the least restrictive states by virtue of their link. But since you can't be bothered to read the article and their sources, you wouldn't know. No guessing required. They gave you a link. Maybe they thought people reading the article weren't lazy.

A whole lot of reasons why blah blah blah aren't national

    Lousiana figures are not goood;

215 excess deaths per 100,000 pop, (national average, 164), and percent of excess deaths attibuted to covid19, 70%, thus, 30% of Excess Deaths died from other causes.

psst; I remember a statement from my daughter when we toured Louisiana 10 years ago; ''Dad, people are generally fat here''

What's amazing is that the left keeps doubling down in the face of rapidly growing signs of disaster. Biden has not only done what I expected him to do- it's worse. There's less of his mental capacity left than I'd given him credit for; he's already qualified himself as the worst president in history. stepped up to the plate? Hell, the man can't find the plate.

It's not necessary for every business to fail to cause the nation to suffer catastrophic damage. Our economy is a network, like a gear chain, and the failure of one triggers crisis for the others.
While some benefit from crisis, that is temporary, because we are all part of the network. The worst, by far- is yet to come, and Biden and company- are insuring that it will be a monumental disaster. At a time when good judgement and prudence are in dire need due to hardships imposed by the virus, Biden presses of tax and spend, for flooding the nation with immigrants lacking any vetting, for creating the worst conflicts over race when the real value of that is political weaponry.

Keep doubling down- you will be the victim of it, like everybody else.

Tell us that again when the other shoe drops. There is no escape from that, it is now pre-destined as the result of grossly incompetent management.

It would have been better had Democrats taken a harder stance on China instead of letting the VP's crackhead son who showered with his relatives invest 1.5 billion dollars of their money for them, in exchange for influence.

Wasn't going to work and couldn't. By the time we started lockdowns we were already four to six months too late for them to be effective. About the only thing you'd have accomplished is moving where the bodies were found from mainly hospitals to private homes.

And still, no liberal has addressed the math that was included in the article itself. Typical.

Arkansas's heaviest infections are in the larger blue counties.

They weren't in most blue states in fact in most blue states and cities the only essential workers were government workers. And BLM rioters.

Oh, and strippers. Strip clubs were left open but liberals closed churches. "Essential services" and all that.

No, hair salons and restaurants were shut down, unless you were a liberal politician. Strip clubs were open to everyone while liberals shut churches down.

Well, Pelousy for one. I haven't seen a list of people who attended the "essential services strip clubs" yet. Liberals haven't produced a list.

A wealthy man "hoards" his wealth? Hardly. Wealth is the result of skilled financial management, not sitting on bags of money. Cash depreciates; become worth less everyday. As Warren Buffet has said- "I hate cash", wealthy people know money has to be working all the time, so it gets invested in the things that grow- such as companies that build factories and create jobs and products that improve the quality of life. It also get invested in ordinary people, such as providing the money to finance your home mortgage. When you say a static society would be dying, that would be true...but the fact is that that only the people who won't manage their money are forever struggling, and always expecting government to compensate for their lack of self-discipline.

The man who lacks financial management skills spends money, but he doesn't use that to make more- so he is forever running out of it, forever complaining how hard it is to gain wealth. That's exactly why so many lottery winners who should be fixed for life wind up bankrupt; they piss away that wealth like it will never end.

I keep enough money in the corporate accounts to insure I can meet all regular needs plus some reserve. Beyond that, everything is invested, and in as many cases as possible- invested where it will grow rather than depreciate.

I think that points out that you are the person who fail to see the subtleties. You obviously don't understand what I've just explained- but every man who has built wealth purposefully does. It's not an accident, it's a well made and well executed plan, and it benefits the entire nation as well as the individual who has the discipline and judgement to do it.

Your plan reminds me of a story where a man tells his friend that all the money be gathered up and distributed equally to all people. His friend replied that in 6 months, it would all be back where it came from-
and the first man replies, "you don't understand! I mean do it every saturday night!.

The really intriguing thing in covid numbers is that inspite of 500k dead there are only about there were only about 135 k more deaths in 2020 than in 2019. And at least some of those were from higher numbers of ODs and suicides.

Yeah see that's exactly what Trump was saying if he didn't get re-elected terrible things would happen. So I don't really care. It's like the mad prophet saying that it will rain 365 days, being wrong 364 days, and being right one day.
