Steve Bannon faces state indictment in N.Y., will surrender Thursday

The former Trump strategist, convicted of contempt of Congress this summer, was pardoned by Trump on federal charges in 2020

NEW YORK — Stephen K. Bannon is expected to surrender to state prosecutors on Thursday to face a new criminal indictment, people familiar with the matter said, weeks after he was convicted of contempt of Congress and nearly two years after he received a federal pardon from President Donald Trump in a federal fraud case.

I hope Bannon goes down with this case. He is a loud mouth that uses others to do his dirty work.

I don't think they have a death penalty for fraud in NY.

Another Trump aide who will be doing a stint in prison.

    How many is that?

To say that Bannon was a special advisor to the POTUS....

So when Republicans get power, they should start imprisoning their most powerful political opponents? Have you ever read a history book? Are you sincerely unaware where this has lead every time in the historical past?

Are you seriously suggesting that the guilty should go free for fear of future reprisals?

Are you here to pose as a victim?

    It won't work with me.

Bannon refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena, that's a crime punishable by prison.

    Don't you understand that?

True, but that's not what this case is about.

One of Bannon's co-grifters got off in this same case back in June, when a barely closeted MAGA got on a jury.

Hope the prosecutors use all their jury challenges better this time..

Just ask the simple question "Who won the 2020 election?".... No MAGA can answer Biden, so they're very easy to spot...

If their 'most powerful political opponents' break the law, then yes they should be brought to court and face whatever consequences the court decides.

Doesn't matter.... when that particular question is asked of a MAGA, the snap response is always gonna be T****.... There's no thinking or ability to control the response going on in there...

    Try it sometime...

Got any proof of that, Politico says 1927 when congress had its own jail. We're talking a misdemeanor here that the left is getting all fired up about lol. There's been several supreme court rulings, I link the actual law explanation for those that want to learn vs those who just want to claim some super duper illegal act (misdemeanor) by a trump guy lol.

If they had their own jail they could and have done it directly themselves with their Sgt at Arms. Since they no longer maintain an extremely expensive jail of their own for the rare cases they turn it over to the courts to enforce.

The average American breaks multiple federal laws every day. There are nearly 100,000 federal rules, laws and regulations. Every single politician could be sent to jail if we wanted to go there. You want to go there. I want to dismantle federal power. Only one of these two choices can lead to horrific consequences.

Yea I would say the first one in over a century is pretty rare. Several ways to deal with this, the right ofcourse didn't go to justice with Obama's AG refused to comply because it's obviously going to be viewed as a political ploy. For some reason the far left loves their political ploys over a misdemeanor lol.

Seriously, even the movie Goodfellas had a scene on this.

How many people, do you think, ignore congressional subpoenas? Without consequence? And really, if they do 'get away with it', what power does a subpoena hold going forward?
