Seriously, if you can find a case from 1927 to now let me know.

So you think that all political figures (at least on your side) should be held above the law in all respects and that they can never be indicted for anything? Have you ever read a history book? Are you sincerely unaware where this has lead every time in the "historical past"?

Well an Attorney General of the United States that happened to be a democrat did. You know the one that's supposed to be the law enforcement arm of the federal government. Think about that. Bannon is claiming executive privilege, just like holder on fast and furious. He could go in and repeat the 5th a hundred times and comply. Bottom line this is a freaking misdemeanor all day every day.

Eric Holder not on your side, let's be honest here. Did he get prosecuted, same exact complaint, and of course he wasn't prosecuted since it was his call who to prosecute lol. It's a joke, just like it was then because you're talking about a misdemeanor.

So you are confirming that you don't think political figures should ever be prosecuted. I disagree.

I find it immensely ironic that democrats are actually interested in crimes against their state, and couldn't care less about the crimes against the people. In NY, isn't this a lesser offense than assault or battery? Oh no. In NY, you go against the power of the state, you're going to get it... Democrats love their authority. And this is just another example of how you attack your political opponents instead of actual crime.

Should people be immune from prosecution because they work in politics?

No. I think political figures that cause massive harm to ordinary citizens should go to jail. For example, when Democrat governors sent Covid patients into nursing homes, I think they committed murder and should be prosecuted for their crime. When Fauci offshored research that created the Covid virus in the Wuhan lab, he broke the law and should be prosecuted at peril of his own life. On the other hand, political process crimes used to take out your opponents should never be pursued.

So he should have complied and pled the 5th. Simple.

Well 1927, 100 yrs ago has nothing to do with being uncivil.

You asked about if I knew about anyone held in contempt that went to jail, I provided that.

    So what?
    Bring it on...
All criminals (regardless of party) should face justice...

I'm confirming it's such a small misdemeanor that it doesn't mean a whole lot unless you're using for political purposes, like this.

And can claim executive privilege just like holder. See how this works, now you understand why no one has been charged with this misdemeanor since 1927.

Don’t worry it’ll be yalls turn soon when republicans take power. I expect congressional committees and subpoenas in regards to what Barack Obama and his cronies knew about the illegal surveillance of trumps campaign.

Let’s see if ole Barry Soetoro will defy a subpoena. Or maybe Biden will when he gets subpoenaed for his role in the hunter Biden corruption commission as well. Quite a few people still in power that need to be subpoenaed for that.

Don’t worry, we will make sure Manchin and Sinema are on the commission so those subpoenas will be bipartisan for you lol

    LOL no you didn't
Yea to a guy who went to jail when convicted of the RICO Act, which has nothing to do with Contempt of Congress. I get it just throw BS out there but understand it's been since 1927, like I said.

It is the previous post about who I know that went to jail for contempt, and another poster provided a link.

The RICO act didn't happen until 1970.

Do you want the Republicans to legalize embezzlement?

Because Bannon is still accused of stealing millions of dollars in connection with his fundraising for the border wall.

Trump has pardoned him for this crime but he will not escape justice in NY.
