President Trump’s attorneys and the White House are moving to resist a growing number of congressional requests for information, increasing the likelihood of a protracted legal fight that could test the power of congressional subpoenas.

The building battle will shape how much material House Democrats will be able to obtain about Trump’s policies and personal finances through multiple investigations launched by various congressional committees.

You realize that launching all of these investigations is making the democrats look extremely bad.

I mean they don't even have a reason to do it other than to get Trump, they are hoping they find a reason to verify the investigation.

It's coming off as a pure attack, which it is, for the purpose of destroying someone.

How would you like it if they opened up multiple investigations about you, dug into your life, requested all information about you?

You'd say, "what did I do to deserve this".

Their reply, "we don't know yet but we will find something on you eventually".

You folks are pretty much guaranteeing Trump a re-election in 2020.

 

I don’t intend this as an insult but have you taken stock of how much of your life is spent ragging in trump? You are here all day every day. I get that you really don’t like Trump but he is president and stands a good chance of being re-elected. I couldn’t stand Obama myself but I didn’t shut down my life to complain constantly about him. Trump will be out of office one day, but you will not get these 4 or 8 years of life you spent complaining back.

 

You can't imagine how silly you sound after Trumpist's calls to "lock her up," preceded by 7 Benghazi hearings, followed by Don's demands that the investigators be investigated. Can you even hear yourself?

Presidents rarely affect congressional races as a general rule.

Especially in midterms.

But if you want to believe these ridiculous witch hunts will help your party win elections then go for it.

The very fact that all of these things they are investigating are things you don't think Mueller has already looked at is laughable.

He is a seasoned law investigator and came up with zilch but if you think Harris and AOC can find something he overlooked then go for it.

I'd be surprised if he was disloyal too. After all, he's married to Queen Ivanka. Besides, Don is protecting Jared as much as the other way around. They are both unqualified to hold their positions.

The point is, the House has a responsibility to hold President Flim Flam accountable for his actions. Don has the responsibility to comply with justified requests for info. That is how it's supposed to work.

For example, your belief that somehow the Mueller report will hurt Democrats because it was a witch hunt. Well, Mr. Trump's approval rating sunk dramatically after the Mueller report was issued. Everything to you appears to be a "total liberal clown show." okay with that, but the Democrats are winning election after election and turning one red district after another blue. As for witches, Mueller put twenty seven under indictment and five in jail. That's a lot of witches.

In a new court filing, Trump’s attorneys asked for a court order to block Cummings’ subpoena to Mazars USA. The Democratic lawmaker is attempting to obtain eight years of the president’s financial records from Mazars, which had asked the committee for a so-called “friendly” subpoena so that it could comply with the request."
