Why should I be held to standards few anti-Muslims posting on here use?

I am more than capable of meeting the same standards as the anti-Islam posters on here....because they don't have any.

I will use whatever timeframe I like to prove what I want to prove......just as they all do. I will use lots and lots of individual actions by individual Christians over centuries.....and extrapolate each one as something undertaken en masse by every Christian alive now simply to denigrate Christianity and stir people up against it.....just as they all do with their posts against Islam.

    BRB!

Ah yes... Don't forget the inquisition...
And please try to at least find exemples of crime commited for religious motive and not some silly peripherial annecdotes.

And before you bring WW2 and the nazi (lets get Goodwin out of the way), none of their crimes were based on religion. It was racially and politically motivated, religion had nothing to do with the massacres and detruction they did.

Compare that to the Pakis who are presently condemning people to death for speaking against islam....

Kanwal Feroz, chief editor of a Christian monthly, also demanded action for blasphemy. “Deliberate or not; this action has hurt the minority community which severely bore the burnt of the blasphemy laws”, he said.

How many have been killed for this?

Did they behead anyone? Or blow up a bus? Or lapidated the "infidels"?

I think the OT could be a better weapon to whack someone with, than the Koran, if they cheesed you off.

I think it has more pages, therefore it is thicker.

So, to conclude my study, I am going to buy a copy of both, then find someone I can clatter over the head.

    I shall report my findings...

The dead sea scroll are kindda crumbly...
The Quran is also too skinny and light, unless you add the 30,000 haddith to it.
The bible is hard to use with one hand and most edition are too short to be used with two hand.

Frankly, if you want to club someone, why don't you use the police approved yello pages/phone directory. There's a reason why its a classic...

"condemning sale of shoes" isnt quite the same as "condemning people to death". Christian doctrine leads to lots of moral indignation from christians. Islamic doctrine leads to believers waging jihad against the unbelievers and their deaths.

    A newspaper is even better...

But such relatively small striking surface can leave marks. The phone directory is the prefered police interogation "technique" for a good reason... It doesn't leave any mark due to its wide striking surface. I know, I was on the receiving end of once when I was a youngster...

You didn't read a thing I said. I don't like Christianity or Islam, or even Judaism. All three should be eliminated from the planet.

Yeah, but a phone directory is not so easy to hide on your person, unless you want to walk around, looking like you got out of a secure unit!

Maybe Jack can start another pissing contest where we can debate which is more intolerant - secular or religious intolerance?

I don't like using the word 'eliminate'.

However, before mankind decides to self destroy, it would be nice if our species managed to reach a stage of psychological and cultural development, to no longer need to argue, fight, war, or even believe in gods, angels, , in whatever form they come, and there are so many.

If in 500 yrs we are still here as a species, and religion is little more than something that is remembered in books, and in the museuems of the day, then I believe this will clearly show a maturity, in our species.

I'm afraid that you cannot ban religion, I would not ever wish to go that way, I see it more as an eventual destination, that more and more people, future generations, free themselves from the myths of gods and invisible heavens, by the simple process of education, reasoning, rationale, and logic.

Sometimes the state will flex it's muscle against a religion, mind you.

It has to be a minor one though.

If there are allegations of oddities in a minor/new age religion, they will send in their stormtroopers, who have proven to be trigger happy.

If it is religion that happens to have numbers on it's side, then there is no way the state would pull that sort of stuff.

You saw how they reacted to what was seen as a 'strange cult', with the David Koresh incident, right?

I think five kids were among those shot dead that day.

There is no way that the state would have taken those liberties had this not been anything other than a very minor religion.

It's laughable for anyone from the Abrahamic faiths to point a finger at ANY other religion/cult, and call it 'dangerous'.

There are no other religions or cults with as much of a history of blood and violence, as the Abrahamic faiths.

I also think it is funny to hear anyone speak about Christianity, and heritage, in the same sentence.

    At least in Britain anyway.

If they really cared about heritage at all, they would realise that Christianity, along with Islam and Judaism, are all actually alien religions, to these islands, and across Europe.

The true origins of Christinaity, are that it is a desert people's religion, just like Judaism and Islam, that was 'exported' to Europe.
