Supreme Court leans in favor of a Christian website designer's right to turn away gay weddings

Why would you want anyone to do a job for you that they don’t want to do? Why not go to someone who wants to serve you?

There a case in California when a transgender man, with his biological parts is suing a gynecologist who refuses to perform a hysterectomy on him. Do you really want a doctor with scalpel working on you removing body parts you don’t have?

To post a candid and upfront disclaimer on her website outlining she has religious objections to doing wedding work for homosexuals, yes.
She's not allowed to discriminate for any other reason.
Its not a no gays sign.

 

And she doesn't NEED wedding clients to have standing, she only needs to have the notice.
Which she does. Full stop.
The law itself makes communication of this intent actionable, giving her standing.

 

Is that what gay people do when they sue people who do not want to participate in celebrating their marriages?

 

I'm sure some of them are going out of their way to play a victim.

 

So the rightist court has overturned abortion rights and is leaning towards ending gay marriage, now they're looking to reinstate segregation.

I predict that in a decade they will bring back slavery

 

Like the gay people who go after people who have religious and moral objections to gay marriage and homosexuality.

I do not believe homosexuality is morally correct for the human society or species (and no we aren't going to argue that here). If a gay couple came to me to write them a song to be used in their marriage ceremony celebrating their gay marriage speaking of it's "vitues" should they be able to force me to under threat of law?

What about a gay musician and group wanting to celebrate their heterosexuality and moral objections to homosexuality should they be required to write a song for that. A sign maker make signs for that to promote it?

 

How does this end gay marriage? Are you saying someone can't get married if one person declines to create a web page about it?

 

Like those who continue to attack the cake baker and would file a lawsuit against this woman?

 

What if I believed that Christianity was responsible for the molestation of children by the Catholic Church, and refused to bake a cake for any wedding held in a Church?

 

That should be your right to do so.

 

As free citizens of the United States, no one should ever be forced to do engage in business activities with anyone else -- PERIOD!

 

So what if Apple decided they didn't want to provide service to conservatives?

Or if twitter decided they only wanted to censor conservatives?

She isn't refusing to work for gay people. She is refusing to support gay marriage, which is against what her religion teaches. If the gay people wanted a pink and purple birthday cake with unicorns and rainbows, I'm sure she would have made it. Pink, purple, unicorns, and rainbows are not a support for being gay. My 3 year old granddaughter loves all of those things.

 

If the law would support her refusing all service to gay people, she would.

 

All those should be their right. It's upto the people to choose to stop using said service and either create their own or deal with it. Both scenarios present opportunities for someone savvy to step in and offer the service to those who are being refused and create their own company/income.

Anyone looking to maximize their profits won't exclude customers based on personal beliefs. As the great Michael Jordan said

Or being proactive, considering the same State tried to force a baker to make cakes against their religious beliefs. BTW, the state lost is suit against the baker. Smart move on her part.
