The news is already acting like this black male with a long criminal record who plowed his SUV into a group of white Christians was "fleeing" from "some other incident" (of course, they won't say what this other "incident" was)

I know damn well that if it was a white male who mowed down a bunch of black people in a Kwanza parade, the headlines would read "white male mows down black Kwanza parade attendees in racially motivated incident" (or something along those lines)...

Instead, the headlines aren't even mentioning that the perp is a black male. They are instead mentioning that an inanimate object (an SUV) is what mowed down Christmas parade participants... NO, we need to REJECT this, call out the bullshit, and relentlessly say that "a BLACK MALE plowed through a bunch of WHITE PEOPLE with an SUV".

Just look at how quickly all of them called Rittenhouse a white supremacist vigilante, but this is just an SUV that killed people. It’s never a gun shot 3 people. A gun can’t shoot itself. But an SUV Can drive itself into a crowd?

Next time you see some news story about a violent felon who has 10-15 convictions on his record and wonder how that could ever happen, just troll on over and read this guys history. 3 year sentence for a violent felony (which reads more like an attempted murder charge would have been proper), sentence- 3 years in prison, served- 19 days.

Actually he fled from dozens of incidents. Reportedly, the first one was a stabbing. Who he stabbed or how many people he stabbed, I don't know.

Here we are somewhere around 16 hours after the first reports started coming, and the media has back-burnered the story. MSNBC, ABC and CBS have articles that are more then three hours old. They report that a person of interest is in custody, but they are not reporting who it is. CNN has more updated articles, but the fact that a person of interest is in custody is literally a side note. None of them are reporting that a African-American with a criminal record was in custody. The vehicle used in the assault has been found and impounded. No, surprise that the vehicle is registered to Brooks.

Of course, Fox News has reported that Brooks in in custody, and that report includes his picture and criminal record. I guess that is why Fox News is the most popular news station on TV, and all the others have falling ratings.

 

Haven’t watched TV since my coffee this morning. Earlier before 8:00 they weren’t naming anyone or showing faces. They’re doing it now because FOX and other responsible sources already are and it would look even worse now if they keep ignoring it. Their hand was forced. Look like ****ing hacks again or try to stay ahead of the news cycle?

No, I absolutely get what @Steve N is saying. IF it were someone becoming some kinda self-appointed avenger for Wisconsin's honor, the chance of other people deciding to emulate him with other copycat attacks is much greater as you've got potentially half the population becoming rage-monsters, goaded on by the Legacy Media. On the other hand, if it's "just" some career criminal running from yet ANOTHER crime he committed, it's more of a one-off, or at least the odds are that it's more of a one-off. Not that that makes what happened any better, but the potential for further attacks is greater with the former than the latter. I haveta tell you, this being some kinda revenge thing was a possibility I thought it could be as well.

It's also instructive that the quote from that Dem Loony-Toon quoted in post #292 seems to want the former also.

Why are the headlines claiming that "an SUV plowed into..." rather than claiming "a black male plowed an SUV into..." ??? Why is this? Why hide the race of the person?? Why hide the race of the victims??
