Not at that level maybe assure a base income and take off of ones salary and wages, say we set this amount at $900 a month if one works at a company take that off of ones wages say that is $1500 a month after taxes so the government would give you $900 and your employer $600. Assuming working full-time which is not practical under Obamacare to expect so one might have to could more than one employer and modify this amount.

Not everyone has a great upbringing where they are ready for college at the age of 18. Some aren't ready for college until after they've had kids of their own. And at that point it's incredibly tough to go to school and support your children. I'd actually be all for a salary to go to school. School shouldn't be tough for money reasons. It should be tough for academic reasons.

Salary for going to school? Yes. I think we should be doing everything we can to increase the amount of skilled workers in our country.

Salary for being an American? No. All that's going to do is make 2800 the new 0. Everything will cost more and businesses will feel less compelled to pay as much.

Yeah I think we all had enough building bomb shelters. Let them give socialism a shot. Who knows? Maybe it'll actually work this time.

Excuses excuses . Not everyone in college had a great upbringing . I , like countless others , work multiple jobs while going to school .... With a kid and pregnant wife. Some people are willing to work harder for what they want.

This isn't some sort of superiority test. It's our country's future. And if we have hidden talent out there that's hidden by simply by a difficult life we need to do everything we can to make it easier for them to unlock their talents and use them to better our country.

You have more chances to succeed in this country than any other place in the world . Many Americans are just unwilling to work hard enough to get what they want. They also have problems accepting responsibility .

I like the idea of minimum support. America couldnt afford $2800, but maybe they can. We could afford like $500 a month. Would be worth it if we got to wipe out all the rest of the social programming with it.

The CEO pay thing will wreck their economy. I say go for it Swiss, we can use your jobs and entrepreneurs. We compete against these people, all Americans should hope they pass this nonsense and we can start taking their jobs.

Guaranteed to go broke. It will last for awhile maybe even a decade, but it's just another socialist redistribution of wealth and they'll eventually run out of other peoples money, especially if executives are limited in their earning power.

Probably not.. The Swiss are very frugal and practical .. Didn't you find that to be so when you lived there?

Yes, I've been there many times, but eventually they will run out of the rich's money. The Swiss won't be so frugal and practical when it's someone else's money.

If the citizens of a free democratic nation decides to make this law, its fine, the majority have spoken.

I like the idea it won't work here but there with the high standard of living and strong economy it might, it might not, but the voters will decide this.

Meh, its not such a big amount of money. Switzerland is so damn expensive that $2800 would only last you about a week unless you lived in a barn.

I'm as conservative as it gets, and I believe college should be free. The system is so subsidized now anyway. It would make us more competitive in the world. People would not be starting off in debt.

We have an adversarial economic system. The greedy get the money and everyone else gets the crumbs. Guys like Dale Carenige shared the wealth. Today the CEO keeps it all like he won the lottery. If we had a more equitable system everyone would be able to live much better.

From what i have read those money will get deducted from employer's wage budget , i mean that if you get CHF10000 government will give you 6000 and your employer will only pay the rest.
I think it is a good move, minimum wage is so 20th century .

Oh and Switzerland is not single culture... they have 4 official languages...

Switzerland is also the land of the $30,000 purses. A person would have to save up his monthly checks for an entire year to buy one.

This seems like it will be a great test of the claims that the government giving people money will boost an economy. If this makes Switzerland into an economic powerhouse, then paying citizens lots of money is a good idea. If the country goes broke, it will clearly be a foolish idea and maybe we can put this free money garbage behind us once and for all.

But you're sure, 100% that they'll vote No. You said so. So no problem right?

Or perhaps they're actually patriots, plastic patriots as per the US Right.

And you don't think that they do what Romney does and keep it in the Camen islands?

They wouldn't be robbed of their living. They have a living because the government provides an infrastructure to allow the companies they work for to thrive. Capitalists in this country have forgotten that. Greed rules capitalists and they have lost any sense of patriotism they may have had at one point.
