I think Biden should have brought in more troops to secure our withdrawal, if that is what he was determined to do.

I'll vote for Trump if he's nominated, but I'd like someone younger... like Abbott, DeSantis or Noehm.

He put me on ignore because he couldn't handle being wrong about the effectiveness of stealth bombers.

So in essence he sees your replies to me, but he does not see my posts that you are replying to.

Trump did blow the response to Covid.

But not the way you think.

OIC, so you're one of those who thinks we should have just ignored the whole thing.

After all it's only a few millions who would have died and most of them were old. Big savings on the Social Security, right?

I would vote for Trump over a Dem. But he is too old and nominating some one else would negate the massive amount of money and time that has gone into the anti-Trump information operations. Also, I would prefer to vote for a real conservative, more in the Rand Paul mode. The next election needs to be more about the economy and less about personality.

Before this is over at least a million will have died in the U.S. anyway. They should've just focused on getting the vaccine out and not ruined the economy.

Masks and social distancing didn't do my aunt any good. She contracted the virus and died anyway.

We didn't shut down the economy for the Great Influenza epidemic and it was far, far worse.

Because it's so close to China and so far from us and they all speak Chinese and we don't.

Taiwan is far more strategically important to China than to the U.S. It would be impossible to defend the island against a determined attack from the mainland without neutralizing China’s Air Force and Navy. That would require military attacks against their assets on the mainland. I don’t see how that would not lead to full-scale war.

IMO, That kind of over confidence has not served the interests of the American people.

Fact: America's corrupt bipartisan ruling political class and its military have failed to achieve any final unambiguous victory over any opponent during over 77 years of warfare.
Unless you count Grenada or Panama - which would be a mistake.

Under Trump, the individual deduction was doubled, each bracket was cut, the corp tax was down 14%, the LLC exemption was $21,000, and student loan interest became deductible (think all that was for billionaires?). If you are not paying less in taxes it is because you paid none to begin with

Trump did great with COVID response. He sent a hospital ship to NY. He had the military build a hospital in the Javits Center. His "Operation Warp Speed" allowed Biden to get vaxxed before he took office.

NOTE: More Americans died of COVID under Biden than under Trump.

Reality isn't overconfidence. If the US and China go to war, American stealth bombers will relentlessly pummel China from the air until there is nothing in China left to bomb.

We prevented South Korea from being destroyed.

The military had done a good job of preventing South Vietnam from being destroyed, but then leftist politicians betrayed South Vietnam and cut off their support.

We prevented Kuwait from being destroyed.

    We took down Saddam Hussein.

We helped the EU take down Muammar Gaddafi.

The military was doing a good job of preventing the Republic of Afghanistan from being destroyed until leftist politicians betrayed Afghanistan and ordered our military home.

About the only thing that needs fixing as far as I can see is we need to purge the government of leftist traitors who abandon our allies.

I do agree that it would be bad if a future leftist government abandoned Taiwan the way past leftist governments abandoned South Vietnam and the Republic of Afghanistan.

All there have been are political actions and very limited military encounters. Our military doesn't lose these struggles, our politicians do.

    Yes, IMO:
1 Sending troops to Afghanistan was a mistake.
    2. Spending over $6 trillion to occupy Afghanistan was a mistake.
    3. Ordering a withdrawal before the spring thaw was a good decision.
    4. The decision to stay until after the thaw was an obvious bone headed error.

Taiwan has no strategic importance to China. China wants to invade Taiwan out of pure aggression.

So full scale war it is.

The US Air Force will be able to relentlessly bomb China with our stealth bombers.

That's no reason for us to abandon our allies.

Your source is the MSM. IOW, Fake News.

The. guardian's source is one of the generals who could not win a war even though spending over $6 Trillion dollars, 20 years and tens of thousands of lives while losing.

    Our politicians command our military.
Bad commanders will usually lead any military to defeat.

That's not accurate. We had won the war in Afghanistan.

The only reason why the Taliban were able to come back into power is because Joe Biden pulled us out of the country for no good reason.

None of the "accomplishments" you listed benefited America and Americans at all.

"The Maginot Line was built to fulfill several purposes:
    • To prevent a German surprise attack.
    • To deter a cross-border assault.[4]
    • To protect Alsace and Lorraine (returned to France in 1918) and their industrial basin.[5]
    • To save manpower (France counted 39 million inhabitants, Germany 70 million)
    • To cover the mobilisation of the French Army[6] (which took between two and three weeks)
    • To push Germany into an effort to circumvent via Switzerland or Belgium,[7] and allow France to fight the next war off French soil to avoid a repeat of 1914–1918.[4]
    • To be used as a basis for a counter-offensive.[8]" Wiki
The Maginot Line accomplished nothing that benefitted France at all.
