Taliban will not be allowing girls in Afghanistan to go to college

Trump would not have sent anyone back in. He got us out (which I VERY MUCH supported)

EVERYONE knew that the Taliban would take control when we left. Thats was very much a known, and was expected.

Biden did nothing but do what he was legally obligated to do, and remove the rest of the forces. The idea that Joe is r the bad guy is ridiculous in that they’re were literally only 2500 troops in country when he took office. YES, Joe botched some things, I’ve already said he did many times, but the idea that he is the bad guy because he didn't send troops back to Afghanistan is ridiculous. The right in this country wanted to canonize Trump for ending the 25 year war, and then when Joe takes over they want to chastise him for doing exactly that ?

For yrs the Trump supporters wanted out of Afghanistan, and Biden held up the agreement. Now seeing the results of their wishes, they complain, and now suggest we go back in.

as for what the Taliban is doing, we been there, done that, Christians have come a long way in stopping from treating women as property, hopefully some day Muslims will see the light too, time to come out of the dark ages

I repeat, women's rights are human rights and women have the same human rights as men. Sexes are like introvert/extrovert or preferring blue to pink as colors. They are self-assigned human characteristics and even mutable but they are no less real for all that. You are defining women according to the discrimination against them and the whole idea of anti-discrimination laws is to eliminate discrimination.

 

And you want to eliminate patriarchal oppression by reinforcing the basis of the patriarchy. You would increase women's opportunity and enhance their progress but require that they do so only as women.

Trump made the deal, Biden only finished the withdrawal as he was required to. But i would expect nothing less from the right than to blame everyone but the Orange God.

What people did know is the Taliban would not easily go away, and had been making gains in many parts of the country after the US military presence greatly decreased.

 

They didn't change their minds. They were never going to allow it.

 

FGM happens across the world. In Africa, the Middle East, some parts of Asia .. and even in the West (thanks to the importation of these cultures).

 

FGM isn't a huge thing in Afghanistan, but the Taliban looks the other way and allows it.

I think due to the very rural remote nature of most parts of Afghanistan, lack of development, a long-term conflict with political instability, not too much is really known about the actual prevalence of FGM in the country. The parts where FGM might be expected to be most prevalent, it has been unsafe for American/European-looking people to go there. I can guarantee you the American soldiers that might have passed through the villages were not carrying out social studies asking women and families about this issue.

There's also a high chance that the Taliban will create a social climate where rates of FGM could increase.

 

Who is whining?
The only regrettable aspect is those who use a situation half way around the world to start YET AGAIN to carry out their own internal domestic wars of paltry party politics with zero justifying facts.
I just told you what can be done to influence other countries. Cant you read?

Is that why Americans still think the US was in Afghanistan on a mission of "good" or that they still believe there were "WMDs in Irak" or that "insurgents" are the bad guys or that suicide bombers are "cowards"?
