    What denomination?

Every church I ever attended had tithes. Its how the church is financed.

These televangelists get money from members and wheedling it from people on TV.

I don't recall all the churches I've visited, so I cannot tell you that information. However, working as a grant writer, I can tell you that many some churches are totally financed by the people that run it until they can build a member base. This is why so many small businesses fail. They don't the income to finance buildings, employees, overhead, etc.

I get that you hate televangelists for some reason, but that doesn't negate the fact that they are businesses and are eligible for help like any other business.

And I thought they didn't pay taxes on tithes and contributions!

    When did that change?

I don't like conmen like the ones using the prosperity gospel. They live in mansions. Own jets to travel..

Again, a religious organization is a business. Some are private. Some are public. Some are non-profits. It is simply a designated type of business in which they do not exist to make profits (as a regular type business does). Non-profit does NOT mean they don't need money to run their businesses.

Is it any different for a company that has millions (or billions) in assets? No. The economy has shut down and businesses, especially small businesses, are closing their doors permanently. Do you think they should not be eligible for assistance during this pandemic? They already have millions (or billions).
