I wasn't talking about prejudice, I was talking about ex gays. They are gay people that have an internal issue. Prejudice really has little to do with it. And it is strictly Christian.

I think they are often driven into this because of the prejudice of those around them, that's a big motivation. They want to appease the cult but it isn't solely Christianity that forms the cult because that cult varies from country to country, city to city, religion to religion etc.

Sure "politicized" Christianity has played a huge role in the ex-gay issue in the US.

I guess I'm just trying to say that there's a kind of person who, for whatever reason, has to feel they are somehow superior to others without having to work for it. It's universal and religion can provide those people with a "backbone" they wouldn't have without it so they are drawn to it as a way of saying "see, I'm right because god says so".

If you're gay and grow up surrounded by those sorts of people, I imagine that can contribute to self hate, especially if you're not in touch with people of opposing views so they turn to the very cult that is abusing them in order to find solace. That's why they get engulfed in this ridiculous pretense but many of the founding leaders of the ex-gay movement have admitted (mostly to themselves) that it doesn't work and gone on to find happiness in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

I disagree, they are driven by multiple different issues none of which are prejudice of people around them. It's typically internal.

The cult is ex gay. Not Christianity. There are countless denominations. Saying Christianity is a cult is like saying humanity is a cult.

And yes ex-gay is strictly Christian show me a Buddhist ex gay group?

They join the escape cult because something was wrong not because they want to fit into a group they didn't belong to that doesn't make any sense.
Show me a Buddhist or Hindu ex gay ministry.
You are still on the subject of prejudice.

    Ex gay is strictly Christian.
No, generally they aren't part of Christianity, they are living a very hedonistic lifestyle with promiscuity among unknown partners and drug addiction. And they trace this back to some sort of sexual abuse it happened to them when they were children. So it has nothing to do with prejudice.

Once again the cult is ex gay.

Of course ex gay doesn't work it's a cult. That's like saying Dianetics doesn't work. It's not science based.

The problem is this cult seeks out a particular type of gay person almost exclusively. And it's because the culture at Large doesn't care about them much like incels.

You show you do not see what is happening. It is impossible for a Christian to be a democrat

You mean some churches are watering down the Gospel and rejecting what God's word teaches about homosexuality and other things. I can tell you that will not happen in my church

Oh do please tell. How is it impossible for a Christian to be a Democrat? What about being a Democrat prevents the belief and acceptance of the Christ as the Savior?

Nowhere in the gospels is homosexuality mentioned. Nowhere in the Old Testament is homosexuality mentioned. Sorry.

Christians do not vote for killing babies or gay marriage or for transgender special rights or men in women's bathrooms the list is long. If you vote for immoral anti-Christian corrupt liars in the democrat party you vote against God. How can a Christian vote for this and serve God?

You show you know nothing about the Bible. In the old testament it was an abomination to God and was punished by death. Read the first chapter of Romans. Jesus said that marriage was a man and a woman

Quite simply. By following Jesus' example of letting people make their own decisions. And that is done in an environment of freedom. When there is no choice between same sex and opposite sex marriage, then no freedom exists to make the right choice. Without the opportunity to make a choice then doing "the right thing" is meaningless. If it's law to be a Christian then what value is there being in a Christian? So yes, a Christian can be a Democrat or any other party, and vote for freedoms, even while not choosing those paths for themselves.

No they can't. They would be putting the democrat party above God's word. They would no longer be Christians

That's your view. In the end, it's the decisions that they make on their own life that matter. It doesn't matter that they allowed another to have an abortion, as long as they don't have an abortion. There is no impact on their soul for allowing another to enter into a same sex marriage (that before we look at the fact that a legal marriage is not the same as a religious one) as long as they do not enter into one. One's admittance into Heaven is based only upon one's self, not others. Not even the sins of the father remain as an issue anymore.

We're right back to the principle of WWJD. Jesus never called for the forced legalization of anything he taught. To do so would be going against his example.

Not fact. You cannot show any objective criteria to make it so. All you can show is subjective interpretation of scripture. But please do try. Present your so called facts

I read all of them, and know the bible much better than you do. It was required learning during my 12 years of catholic school.

Pot kettle achromatic. You are the one with the lack of knowledge. You still have not shown any objective criteria that counters my argument.

That still does nothing to show that a Democrat can't be a Christian. It's still you making your own interpretation. There is nothing there that shows that allowing others to do what you won't as a Christian makes you not a Christian.

To be a democrats you vote against God's word and against Christians. Proof is look how democrats attack Samaritans purse for setting up medical facility in Central Park. You only say that because you are a partisan democrat that can't admit you and your party hates Christians.
