Texas, the state that blessed us with George W. Bush, Rick Perry and Greg Abbot among others, now gives us Ken Paxton. Paxton, like Abbot, is yet another Attorney General who does not understand that the AG’s job is to enforce the law, not to actively subvert it. Nor does he know that his job is to protect the interests of all Texans, not just those that he believes are worthy of his services. And his job is certainly not to be grand standing by pushing through pointless legislation intended to appease the paranoid bigots and vilifying supporters of LGBT rights.

Reading this stuff makes me wish that we hadn’t won the war with Mexico. Had we not-Texas would be Mexico’s problem, not ours. While a number of other states, particularly in Dixieland, rival the Taliban in their zeal and willingness to smite the infidel, stories out of Texas seem to be the most numerous and egregious at the moment.

Then, his vilifying of LGBT people:

And perhaps his worst act was this:

And Paxton’s transgressions do not end with LGBT issues

To be fair, the problem goes beyond Paxton. After all, this is TEXAS

And, it goes beyond racism and anti LGBT policies and actions:
    More on Greg Abbot

Of course, all of this just scratches the surface. It is just a small sampling of the atrocities committed by Texas politicians who have some very strange ideas about what it means to serve in a position of power and authority, about religious freedom and about human rights.

From time to time I will be posting new stories out of Texas. After all, there is so much more, from their quest to dumb down public education by banning critical thinking because it undermines parental authority, to the lust for state sanctioned ritualistic murder. I invite everyone-particularly anyone who is out there from the great state of Texas to post your stories. Even positive ones will be welcome, if you can find any. Cheers

Paxton is on his way out! Courts have stepped in on his bigotry and slapped him down several times. Plus add on the indictments he is in big trouble. This is what Texas elects because God tells them to.

Patton will be history soon enough, he is already going to be standing trial and the evidence is clear, he will be one of the shortest term AG's in Texas history.

It is probably time for a corollary to Godwin's law. Comparing any Texas politico to the Taliban means you have lost the argument.

Soooooo, a weed smoking, tree hugging guy from New Jersey, spews hatred for Texas politicians. A guy from the only state with more crooked politicians than Chicago is talking about other states. Hope you didn't have to cross the bridge from New York to post this.
