well, at least I know I’m not the only one screaming that this is happening. CNN just won’t mention Their lords name in the reasoning why. More activity from all our enemies while this old puke sits in the White House with his tail tucked like a whipped dog muttering about how his support for the Unicorn should have been enough to avoid war. Why they’re not mentioning how weak our president and VP are is crazy. Things just keep getting worse under these trash team.

    COVID numbers up
Enemies making costly moves on our authority
Inflation is climbing like stink from a cesspool
    Violent crime rocking our cities
    Theft’s that just won’t stop
Threats of Russian hacking on our infrastructure

what are democrats worried about? Canceling college debt, destroying a filibuster, passing a partisan hack of a voting bill, making sure men can swim against women, destroying the electoral college, and pack the court. Considering all that’s going on this is amazingly moronic not just at the level of the president but even at congress. Unbelievable.

CNN "enemies sense weakness and want to strike now"

Gee I wonder why that is...?

    Under Obama… land grab
    Under Trump… nothing
    Under Biden… land grab

Trump was way better off to deal with this situation. They knew not to mess with him. But under Biden they’re walking on him like he’s their bridge to their victories. This weak stance will put us in war faster than the fear of a crazy man with his hands on a button. No one fears biden or the democrats. History is proving them to be weak and fearful

OP: It's simple. Putin doesn't want NATO sniffing up Russia's butt. Ukraine is a buffer and should remain so. Also (and this is my opinion) having dealt with Ukrainians a bit, they are not fit to join NATO or EU (for some time).

True. But the reality still is, Russia waited for the weakling to be in charge.

Why? To what end? Biden has a tock record of caving to them. IE, Georgia and the Crimea.. Democrats give in and subjugate citizens of other nations to the Russian State.

    Justifying Russian aggression.

No one is allowing them to Join NATO yet they just won’t take it off the table for a future possibility. They are only using that as an excuse just like you are right now.

LMAO. If he made us the laughingstock then why are the Russians and Chinese making their moves on Biden and not Trump? What made us a laughingstock was Afghanistan. Well I don’t know, that was no laughing matter. It’s literally pitiful. Biden made us a world class disgrace with that move. We are by far worse off than we were with trump.

The notion of an expansionary Russia is laughable. They are trying to hold onto what they have.

They don't want NATO influence any further East and may fight over it.

Why is the West coddling Ukraine. Are they a baby? Ukraine needs to learn some diplomacy.

Why does Russia deserve a buffer state? Because they are commies?
I find it hard to believe it’s residents would prefer the Russian rat hole over Ukraine. It has been “disputed territory for a reason - Russia wants to drag it into its wrecking yard.

Right now Russia wants to protect their borders and insuring that we don't stick a military base or the like right on their doorstep. I get their reasoning. They waited for the crazy guy to leave office and the weak guy to get elected because he's likely to have a soft bark and come at Russia with sanctions they can live with as they march into Ukraine.

Common sense. I don't know what Russia deserves, but imagine if Canada and Mexico were about to join a socialist union with Russia. How would US react?

Learn diplomacy? Are you suggesting you would rather have nations with diplomatic ties to Russia rather than us?

This is where the left loses me on foreign policy. You think our trade will remain the same if we cave militarily all the time and that’s not true. You people must love this supply chain shortage. How will allowing our trading partners to be bullied by communist countries effect our supply? Most of our chips for vehicles come from Taiwan. We trade to Europe and if their cost of living goes up from Russian oil prices, our trade will go down.

both scenarios are being pushed by our adversaries and the left wants to ignore it like nothing will come out of it.

Russia invaded Georgia during "W" regime, but why do you feel its US responsibility to police such things?

That is a false equivalency. “What if” doesn’t cut it. But since you asked, Mexico is hardly our friend. Both countries seek to send their disfunction to their neighbors.

Canada and Mexico are aligned with the US by choice. The old Soviet Union's "buffer states" in the Warsaw Pact immediately ran to NATO the first chance they got. It is not surprising Ukraine wants to follow. This traffic only flows one way.

I think it's safer if Ukraine straddles both sides. More to the West is ok, but they need to stop thinking about joining the EU. At least for now.
I think there's a stronger case for defending Taiwan.

It's not so much caving militarily. It's being extremely selective about which fights you pick. I think militarily engaging with Russia is madness. Direct hostilities have been avoided for decades for the simple reason that America and Russia have been at pains to avoid direct engagement.

Yes, the Northern countries have been gained by the EU and NATO. But their combined population is not much more than one-seventh of Ukraine. Losing the Ukraine would be a massive bleed for Russia.

Understandable that Ukraine wants to follow but, frankly, I don't think it is of the same quality as the Baltic States. And also loyalties are split within the country. I'm sure you know all this.

Bottom line, I think it's a poor deal for EU and NATO. Like adopting a difficult teenager.

On the same token, you just can't let Ukraine fall to Russia. The message that sends is a very bad one. Ukraine is a sovereign state. The ball is in Putin's court. He also started this ball rolling.
