The GOP soft on the "real" gun problem

If the solution to gun violence is lock em up and throw away the key......why is the GOP so soft on crime? Most legislatures and governors are republican. Why are they letting all these felons out of prison? In some states they have absolute control over all laws.....and yet they are soft on crime. Why?

gun control was a scheme democrats adopted when Nixon correctly claimed the Democrats were soft on street criminals because many blacks consider any calls for a "crack down on crime" to be anti black. SO the Democrats concocted crap like the Gun control act of 68 to pretend they were actually doing something about crime without upsetting their oh so important constituency-black Americans, I guess you are unaware that from 1933-1953 every single federal judge appointed was a Democrat appointee and that created a massive wave of legal interpretations and case law that favored the "rights of criminals" and by the time the GOP started appointing judges, the precedent was set

 

I guess the GOP could write laws in the legislature that mandate life sentences for these people....but they don't? Anyone want to guess the reason? I have a theory!

The previous AG's, Lynch and Holder, with the blessings of Obama, were the people flooding the streets with criminals.

We no longer have that problem under Jeff Sessions.

Easy your assumption is wrong hence this OP fails because it misconstrues what the GOP is trying to do, The GOP recognizes that the government cannot be everywhere to protect it's citizens, they also recognize that a large percentage of convicted felons will be released from prison due to parole or expiration of sentence and that a large percentage of them will recommit crimes. Hence giving everyday citizens the ability to protect themselves is an additional step in the effort make crime harder for criminal not go soft on them. What you truly have is a crime or criminal problem and not a gun violence problem. This OP can now be considered resolved.

 

This thread is akin to asking " when did you stop beating your wife".

I will answer though. A lot of stupid laws clogging up prisons and the court system. Means shorter sentences for many and no.prison for some that should.
