When the "mayor" gets involved, logic goes out the window. Businesses look at wages as an expense. They do not see people. They will always try to reduce that expense. One moment, the right tells us that businesses are going overseas because of cheap labor but then they want to make Americans "cheap labor". Sorry, most Americans do not want to be cheap labor again like they were in the 19th century.

Americans were doing well wihen businesses were innovative. Today's crop of executives worry more about their compensation than finding innovative ways to run their companies.

Because not everyone hates America. The DemocRATs have the fascists, we have the Americans. It's not complicated.

And then we get the standard propaganda from the mayor.

Well, at least you have stop defending businesses who screw the workers. Can you explain how "my ilk" is destroying the business environment? Maybe you could tell me the difference between the business environment during the 50s, 60s and 70s and the business environment over the last 30 years.

There is a reason that China has to cyber attack our business websites, they have destroyed the incentive for business start up and creativity, but I wouldn't expect anyone like you to know or conceive any of this.

Is this an explanation for why I should move to China? Weird.

Walmart has been attacked by the loony left for decades,

Yes because they sell a lot of Chinese products. You really have a problem keeping your argument together. You say businesses have a right to pay low wages to Americans and then you promote Wal-Mart. These Americans do not have enough purchasing power to buy anything but Chinese products.

Again, our national and state laws prevent abuse of workers, and you continue to dodge giving examples of individuals you claim have experienced this

Again, you do not accept any examples so you say that I do not give any.

We can continue this circular posting or you can start addressing today's problems for today's workers.

People have to choice to work at Walmart or shop at Walmart. My point in using China as a place of refuge for you against our evil businesses (your paradigm) was to illustrate how (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up state controlled lack of freedom is, but apparently that eludes you

Agreed. One would thing that instead of being envious, they'd strive for the same benefits that many in the public sector enjoy by organizing. But there is a saying that you can club the mule on the head as much as you like and he'll remain just as stubborn as before.

Well, if that was the case, brocy, it was a terrible example. The USA is no where near the level in Venezuela or China. Is fear mongering your modus operandi?

You certainly avoid replying to my comments.

What part of the Mayor's statement are you attempting so weakly to refute?

The Mayor doesn't care if businesses look at employees as people, giraffes, or helium balloons. The Mayor never said otherwise. The Mayor was discussing wages, yes? Yes, of course. And the businessman seeks to reduce his expenses, right? It's so good that you had someone tell you this before you posted, but you clearly had no reason to inform the Mayor, who's run a business before.

But it's nice of you to show that you know all the socialist anti-capitalist jargon, too.

You're right, not everyone hates America, but everyone that voted for Obama does.

This bill is a joke. To claim it offers an "option" is intentionally misleading. It gives the employees the "option" to work OT or for Comp but it also allows to employers to withhold overtime work for only people willing to work for comp and not OT. It flies in the face of the The Fair Labor Standards Act.

If it didn't they wouldn't be offering it.

The rich/elites have an unfair advantage over the working class: they are already rich and powerful so if they can't get what they want by being richer and smarter, they can get it by being manipulative and by playing dumb so the sheeple will follow.

It does seem like a scheme to me.
